Jaimee

Sailor

Hi, Welcome to Jaimee's page and the world of Poodles. I am invading this page for a wee little bit, yes -- me, Sailor! It is now July 2000 and I have a new friend to share my life with, her name is Jaimee. Jaimee is a Standard Poodle. She looks black right now but they say that she will be a "blue" poodle. I am not quite sure what they mean by that, not sure if they mean she has "blue blood", like in royalty -- or if she is supposed to be a "blue ribbon winner". I know that Jaimee does have some really good bloodlines, but I guess only time will tell. You can see Jaimee pictured above and to the left -- notice she has to place herself in front of the door so that it looks like she is wearing bows in her hair. She really isn't though, those are stickers on the door so that we can tell that the door is closed and won't run into it. I think she placed herself there on purpose to make her look special. A picture of me is up on the right, I love posing on the glider.

Jaimee came to live with us in May 1999 at the age of 10 weeks. Boy was she a pest, well, actually she still is quite a pest!! I guess some of the time it is nice to have her around though as she does like to play and we have quite a good romp in the yard, and she is rather fun to play tug with. Sometimes though mom isn't too happy with us when we tug too hard and pull the leg off of one of our "stuffies". What I like to do best is get a stuffed toy in my mouth and then crash on the living room floor on my back and make my "sister" try to get it from me. Jaimee then grabs the other end of my toy and pulls. She is really strong, she will pull me all over the carpet while I am still on my back, but I hang on and never let go of this toy.

Jaimee's favorite thing to do is retrieve, she will retrieve till she drops! Her favorite thing to retrieve outside is her Jolly Ball, she loves to run after it and then pick it up by it's handle and race back to mom with it.

Inside, Jaimee and I love to race up and down the hall, and especially love to fly onto the couch in the living room. Sometimes we even manage to re-arrange the furniture by pushing the couch into the antique sewing machine and pushing that into the rocker -- we just keep pushing until it is all lined up against the wall. Of course mom must not like it because she keeps moving it all back.

Sometimes I am not too happy that I have a sister, she gets too much attention and I don't like that so well. But, it is nice when mom gets out the clicker and decides to start working Jaimee because then I can also show mom all of my "tricks" and get some treats too.

Hi, it's me Jaimee -- I kicked Sailor off my page, he was "hogging" things....this is a page for POODLES!! POODLES RULE!!

Yep, I came into this household as a wee bit of a little snot. I ruled the roost at home with my littermates, so hey, why not here?? Well, I soon found out that the rules are a bit different in the human world and that's okay, I find that when I am good I get rewards. I like that!!

Mom works at home and we feel quite privileged to be able to play all day, although really we do a lot of just laying around in her office. We have lots of toys, my favorites are my Jolly Ball outside, but inside I like many -- my "snake" which Sailor and I play tug with, and my mom likes to roll it into a ball and throw it for me to retrieve and then I like to try to unroll it before I bring it back to mom. I love my Wiggly Giggly ball. And I like a new yellow hairy duck that mom just bought.

I do have trouble being a perfect angel (although mom says that I am really pretty good) but then I am still a baby and so I can get away with things like spinning circles in front of the patio door and sending the vertical blinds flying "helter skelter" in all directions. It is great fun to watch that but mom doesn't seem to appreciate it so much. Sometimes I can't help myself and I have to stand on hind legs to see what is on the kitchen counter, mom doesn't like that too much either. But really I am very good, I don't chew things, I am now housetrained, and I am very attentive to mom and dad -- I love them both equally. I love to make eye contact and watch mom all day as she works.

Mom put these crazy pants on me for a while. I just stood and let her do it like a good girl and I didn't let on that I didn't like them but I did try to rub them off on the wall, or the couch, or anything that I could rub against to get rid of them but they were just stuck on too tight! So, I learned to live with them. Mom says that soon I won't have to ever wear them again, she says that even though I have some of the best bloodlines around, I am going to get "spayed". I am not sure what that means but she says that all pets should be spayed. Breeding dogs is to be left up to breeders who have done many years researching genetics and health issues, it is the best way to preserve the poodle breed for tomorrow.

Mom says that I am her "best baby girl", I thought that was really special but then it hit me that I am her "only baby girl"!! Oh well, *I* think she does like me best! Although I do hear her say "Your my Best Buddy" to Sailor all the time....but wait, I hear "Your my Best baby girl" -- yes, that is for me!! I will run and give her kisses:-)
