| 1. Does you student help you cook for Thanksigivng? There has to be something yummy in the kitchen that has his or her sound in it. Try to find three things - one sound in the initial position (beginning), one in the medial position (middle), and one in the final position (end). Practice these words 5 times each day. 2. Nighttime routines are a good time to work on articulation! When your students stand in front of the mirror to brush their pearly whites, have them make a correct production of their sound looking in the mirror. Does it sound right? Where is their tongue? What about their teeth? Have them move their mouths to produce the sound until it sounds right. Shaping in front of the mirror is fun! 3. Details are important and can be difficult for students with language delays. Work with your student to make a family tree of people visiting for Thanksgiving (or just of the family in general!) Can your student give one important detail about each person? Practice using describing words like short, tall, hair color, eye color, etc. Happy Thanksgiving! |
