The Elbow Drop #2

Last Monday saw the release of the highly Acclaimed ‘RXPW 25’ update.

Ok, so this might not be the greatest way to start the column with, and it may seem like I am simply repeating what has already been said, but in my view (Which Doesn’t count for much these days), RXPW 25 is the best update from the former PWM programmer yet, and quite possibly the best update Promotion Wars has even seen!

I suppose a good stats update really depends on what is happening in Pro-Wrestling at that point in time, but just looking at how many wrestlers have been added, edited, or removed just shows how much detail RXPW likes to put into his updates.

And on the subject of Stats Updates, the last week or so has seen a total of 5 new Updates!

These include The Mecca 3, Volsfan’s roster split Update, the first ever update from WCIW, and of course – RXPW 25…

Which brings me to the question – Why so many new Updates?

Like I’ve already said, a good update pretty much depends on the quality of WWF television at that moment in time, and the only real things to update since Marko Sparko’s WWA update has been the now…

Of course William Regal captured the Intercontinental Championship, and DDP defeated Christian for the European Championship, but apart from that, What has happened to force 3 new people into releasing Stats Updates?

Well, moving on, in the last column about 3 Weeks ago, I talked about a new Wrestling sim called Sim X…

Sim X was due to be released on January 21st, but Tekknyne Studios decided to release the game about a week earlier, due to the fact De-Bugging was finished early.

Unfortunately though, when I started downloading the game, AOL cut me off and I couldn’t complete the download. And with PWSE’s problems and Tekknyne’s bandwidth troubles, I haven’t been able to download the game since.

I do however; have some details on the game, which is in fact a Career Sim and NOT a Wrestling Simulator. It makes no difference though, as from what I’ve Seen of the game through Screenshots, and from the reports I’ve heard, this looks likely to be the “greatest Career Simulator game ever released to the Internet”, or at least that’s however it is described by a mate of mine…

Speaking of Screenshots, I would like to see yours! Let me explain…

I would like readers to send me screenshots of their game, whether it’s your World Beating roster, a young Training Camp talent you’ve trained up, or simply your latest PPV results. To take a screenshot, simply press Alt+Prt Scr and then paste into MS Paint, or any other graphics programs.

The best screenshot will get a mention in next week’s column, so please send them in to [email protected] by Friday…

On another note, thank you to everyone who has sent me feedback from the ‘PW Jotpad’ I made a couple of weeks ago. It only took me about 30 Minutes to make, but every day I seem to get yet another Promotion Wars fan who thanked me for the Jotpad, and the 60 or so replies made in the post I made on the PW Arena. Every comment was Positive, so thank you.

And I guess I can’t post a Column for PWAdditions.com without mentioning the huge changes that are happening on the site at the moment, with Adam Carrier donating over 36 scenarios, Hundreds of Created Wrestlers, and much more over to PW Additions. I remember visiting the site on Christmas Eve and seeing a message saying “I have just Uploaded our 15th Scenario on the Site”. Just 7 weeks later and the site already has 35 scenarios, plus another 35 coming in within the Next Week or so. It just shows you how much the site has come on in such a short period of time…

Finally, to end this weeks column, I would like to ask if anyone knows where I can find the rosters of WCW & ECW from January 1st 1999, or around that period. This is for a WWF 99 Scenario I am making, and despite the fact I completed the WWF roster last week when I was off school Ill, I cannot Continue until I find the WCW & ECW roster. If anyone knows, please tell me by e-mailing me at [email protected], and any other feedback would be appreciated too!

Thanks in Advance…
