Omaha, Nebraska - The Qwest Center

Just less than three days before the PWA crowns a new PWA Champion at Liberty or Death, the Qwest Center in Omaha, Nebraska served as the location for the September 9th edition of PWA Fusion on ESPN.

In a huge opening contest, the "Big Red Machine" Kane battled Shawn Michaels in a rematch from Vacation to Devastation, contested under Last Man Standing rules.  As the conclusion of the match drew nearer, Kane pumbled Shawn Michaels up the ramp.  The demented Kane siezed "HBK" by the throat, but before he was able to lift him up, Michaels countered with a low blow, a move perfectly legal in a Last Man Standing Match.  Once Kane released Michaels, "HBK" delivered Sweet Chin Music, sending Kane flying off the stage and crashing in to several tables below the stage.  After the referee initiated the ten count, the "Heart Break Kid" was declared the winner.

On last week's edition of Fusion, after Kurt Angle retained his United States Title against Hulk Hogan, he was challenged by PWA's latest acquisition, Montel Vontavious Porter.  This week, Porter made his PWA debut with a quick win over A.J. Styles.  After the match, MVP once again called out Angle which led to the U.S. Champion coming to the ring.  After more trash talking from the confident MVP, Angle was finally able to accept the challenge and the match was made for next week's edition of Fusion: Kurt Angle defending the PWA United States Title against MVP.  After sealing the deal with a handshake, MVP tried to sucker Angle, attempting to kick him in the mid section, however, the Olympic Gold Medalist caught MVP's foot and applied his signature Ankle Lock, forcing MVP to tap out.  Will Angle be able to make MVP tap out again with such ease next week when the title's on the line?

In the main event, Carlito the "Cool" was set to face Christian, however, after running in to one another in the backstage area, both Carlito and Christian explained their frusterations to Shane McMahon about facing one another just days before the PWA Championship Battle Royal at Liberty or Death.  As a result, Shane changed the main event in to a double main event with both men competing in singles competion against unnamed opponents.

In the first portion of the double main event, Carlito the "Cool" battled none other than the "Immortal" Hulk Hogan.  After purposely getting him self disqualified after low blowing Hogan, Carlito looked to add insult to injury, grabbing a steel chair from the outside.  In an unsuccessful attempt, Carlito swung the chair, but Hogan dodged the bullet and was able to feed Carlito several right hands, focring him to drop the weapon.  The "Hulkster" then whipped Carlito to the ropes, but the "Cool One" managed to come to his senses and slide under the bottom rope leaving Hogan to pose for the fans in the sold out Qwest Center.

In the final match, "Captain Charisma" went one on one with the "King of Kings!"  After sending Triple H to the outside, Christian distracted the referee allowing Tyson Tomko to interfere with a huge big boot to the "Game."  After seeing Tomko's actions, Triple H's side kick and former sixteen time champion, the "Nature Boy" Ric Flair interjected, spinning Tyson aronud and unloading with a series of chops.  Christian then aided his "Problem Solver," attacking Flair from behind.  Christian rolled Flair in to the ring and he and Tomko begain to double team the "Nature Boy" until the "Cerebral Assassin" returned to the inside of the ring with his trusty sledge hammer.  Smart-eying the "Game," Christian managed to slide under the rope unarmed, leaving Tomko to deal with Triple H and the sledge hammer alone.  As Christian looked on from the outside, Triple H proceeded to destroy Tomko with the sledge hammer.  Fusion then concluded with the "King of Kings" posing on the second rope, signing that in two days, he would be new PWA Champion.
