Phoenix, Arizona - The U.S. Airways Center

When this week's edition of Fusion kicked off from the sold out U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix, none other than the ever so controversial Carlito the "Cool" stood in the ring, ready to drop one of the biggest bombshells in PWA history.  The referee for the main event at Vacation to Devastation first defended his actions last Sunday, noting he did not intend to assist the reigning PWA Champion, CM Punk, but rather gain retribution over Christian who questioned Carlito's authority in the midst of his title bout.  Carlito then continued, calling CM Punk a liar and cheater and slowly eased his way back to the night of the Tournament of Torture.  After reminding the crowd of the gambling conspiracy theory which led to head referee, Earl Hebner's suspension, Carlito testified that not only was CM Punk in on the conspiracy, but in addition, had failed a post drug test, testing positive for anabolic steroids.

Later in the night, CM Punk joined both Shane and Stephanie McMahon in the middle of the ring.  After pleaing innocent to the claims of him testing positive for steroids, Carlito was then asked to the ring.  "Prove it." uttered Shane McMahon.  Then, with a gleam in his eyes, Carlito presented the McMahons with what appeared to be documented proof of CM Punk's failed drug test.

While Shane and Stephanie examined the evidence, an irate CM Punk would tackle Carlito through the ropes, to the floor, unloading on him with lefts and rights until referees and other personel rush to the ring area to pull him off.  When things seemed like they couldn't get any worse for CM Punk, while being restrained by referees, he was informed by Shane McMahon that due to him testing positve for anabolic steroids, there was nothing he could do except strip him of the PWA Championship and to add insult to injury, Stephanie informed him that until he was proven either innocent or guilty, he would join Earl Hebner on the suspension list.  Fans looked on in complete shock as CM Punk was escorted out of the arena by the U.S. Airways Center security.  Shane McMahon picked up the now vacant PWA Heavyweight Championship and he and his sister headed to the back.

In the opening contest, the new PWA United States Champion, Kurt Angle, defended his newly won title for the first time against the "Immortal" Hulk Hogan in what would be Hogan's first crack at the U.S. Title in his career.  Amazingly, Angle was able to survive, U.S. belt intact, but his troubles wouldn't stop there as the newest addition to the PWA roster, Montel Vontavious Porter aka MVP would step out on to the ramp, microphone in hand, to announce to the world, his signing with the PWA and to issue a challenge.  That challenge was to Kurt Angle for the United States Championship.  After laying the challenge out, MVP made his exit not even allowing Angle to respond.

At Vacation to Devastation, in a No Holds Barred Match, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Triple H were unable to solve their differences, thus leading to their final encounter inside the steel cage.  In a bloody brawl, it would be the "Cerebral Assassin" walking out with the win via exiting the door, but of course, in the eyes of many, his victory will be considered tainted due to the interference from his mentor, "Nature Boy" Ric Flair.

After hitting the Stone Cold Stunner on the "Game," Austin attempted to make his exit through the door, but out of no where, Flair would smash the referees head in to the cage and slam the cage door in Austin's face.  Flair then entered the ring and he and Triple H proceeded to double team the "Texas Rattlesnake," beating him to a bloody pulp.  Finally, the former sixteen time champion slapped his patented Figure Four Leg Lock allowing Triple H to make the easy escape out the door for the win.

To close the night, Shane and Stephanie returned to the ring with the vacant PWA Championship to announce that on September 11th, when the PWA invades Iraq for a special event dedicated to all of the U.S. armed forces, a new PWA Champion will be crowned.  At Liberty or Death, for the first time in history, every single active PWA superstar on the roster will compete in an epic Battle Royal with the last man standing becoming the new and undisputed PWA Heavyweight Champion.  Nobody knows who will realize their destiny and become the new champion of the PWA, but one thing that's for sure is thta on 9/11 history will be made.
