Rob Hunter, Bass

"It's something inspired. Finding the groove comes naturally from practicing scales and jamming with musicians who push the boundaries. But Paynesville Station is more than just solid musicianship -- it is about reaching that place where it all comes together to create something that is greater than the sum of its parts."

Rob came to the Upper Peninsula after spending eight years on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico. Originally from Michigan, he has visited many interesting parts of the country, some of which he called home. From the mountains of New Mexico to the bayous of Louisiana, he has taken residence in some of the nation's most unique places. Geography may have been an influence in the music he hears and plays.

Rob is also an author, who has two books to his credit so far:

Second-Class Citizenship: A Portrait of Race Relations Surrounding the Navajo Reservation (2002 by SynergE Books, ISBN 0-7443-0588-8)

Dark Truths: Modern Theories of Serial Murder (co-authored with Pulitzer Prize nominated author, Dr. Christopher J. Kurtz) (2004 by Virgin Books, ISBN 0-7535-0814-1)
