MINGER-MANBECK Wedding. In a beautiful midafternoon double ring ceremony, Miss Merrie Virginia Minger became the bride of William Garland Manbeck Saturday May 31, before the flower designed altar of the Community Church with Dr. O. F. Jordan officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick F. Minger and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hoydt G. Manbeck, Des Moines, Iowa.

The bride made a beautiful picture in an ankle length gown of powder blue lace. She wore a halo garland of nylon tulle intertwinned with ivy and stephanotis on her hair and carried a tropical cascade bouquet with three brown orchids in the center surrounded by laurel leaves and stephanotis with ivy trailers.

Miss Muriel Higgins, life long friend of the bride who was the only attendant was gowned in brown lace also of ankle length. She carried baby blue orchids nested in a bed of white nylon net and stephanotis with laurel leaves and ivy.

Mr. Hubert G. Mote of Des Moines, Iowa acted as best man and users were George Hall, Chicago, and John D. Bonham cousin of the bride. The three men were the bridegroom's fraternity brothers.

The bride's mother wore a dusty rose crepe dress with gray accessories with an orchid corsage.

The bridegroom's mother was dressed in turquoise blue crepe with midnight blue accessories and wore an orchid corsage.

A reception for 125 guests was at the Tip-Top Room of the Georgian hotel in Evanston.

Prenuptial parties and showers were given for the bride by Mrs. S. J. Cooley and Mrs. Charles Bredfelt, Mrs. R. G. Bowles and Mrs. John Bonham. Mrs. Harry Henke, Mrs. John Ruxton, Lois Otto and Muriel Higgins and Janet Carroll.

204. Patricia Jean Minger

I am retired now. My last job was Vice President of Quinsept, Inc. which lasted 16 years until we ceased operation. I wrote software, designed software, trouble shooted software, and wrote manuals to explain the genealogy software that my husband Steve wrote. I am in two choirs, play bridge, read, continue to be interested in my family genealogy, and while the opposite of a sport's enthusiast, I do enjoy t'ai chi.

Stephen Carl Vorenberg

Steve was President of Quinsept, his own company, where he designed, programmed, managed software development, lectured, and conferred with customers. His major project was the software program Family Roots which he originated. The company ceased operation after about 16 years. Many of the ideas he originated are found in genealogy software programs today. Steve plays the bassoon in a quintet, sometimes in the Waltham Symphony, is an avid bridge player, and keeps extremely busy as a software trouble shooter for the Orion Company.

ADMIRL AKBAR

Upon reflecting, I have come to the conclusion that the God
of Fish is far supreme to the God of Man. The God of Fish has
left his creation with concrete evidence that he exists, whereas
the God of Man has not left him with any proof that he cares for
his creation, or indeed, even exists. Fish, I find, are far more
pure and holy creatures than man; man only believes that he is
pure and holy. Fish stand for brotherly love and stand by their
families, whereas man is irritable and rebellious. The God of
Fish quite simply still cares for his creation and has not
forsaken it, as the God of Man has.

The God of Fish (Admirl Akbar) loves his creation. This is
shown by the way in which he protects them. His protection is a
miracle, the miracle of ice. Ice floats; this is a miracle
because if ice didn't float, it would sink to the bottoms of
oceans and water holes, and, in doing so, it would crush all of
the poor helpless fish which Admirl Akbar (their God) has
constructed so carefully in his own image. By protecting his
creation in this manner, the Fish God has given his creation a
sign, or indeed a proof, of his existence. The God of Man has
provided no such miracle for his creation; the God of Man has
left man on his own, to defend himself against the elements.
Indeed, this God of Man hasn't even given his creation any proof,
not even one sign, to prove to his creation that exists. The
Bible of Man says that man must have faith in God, or be
condemned to Hell; the God of Fish doesn't use such evil trickery
on his creation. The God of Fish provides proof so that his
creation will be able to believe in him; the God of Man does not
provide proof, therefore making it virtually impossible for man
to believe in him, thus condemning almost all men to Hell.

Fish are holy creatures. They swim around in holy water,
free from thought and materialism. They may eat each other, but
this feeding is pure, for it involves no thought; it serves the
useful purpose of saving their beloved oceans and water holes
from becoming overpopulated, and it saves the fish from starving
due to overpopulation. Man believes that he is holy, but he is
not. Man is obsessed with money and intellectual exploration.
This destroys the innocence and purity of a creation-to-its-God
relationship. Men do not eat each other; they feel that it is
morally wrong. This snobbish belief that man has about himself
being the "pure" and "perfect" creation has gotten him into a lot
of trouble, for, by not eating each other, the Land of Men has
become overpopulated, and, because of this, a lot of them starve.
The fish don't starve because they are smarter than man.

Fish like to stand by their families and friends. They
travel and live in "schools" which include their families as well
as other members of their own species. Fish enjoy each other's
company, so they never curse themselves by becoming parted from
their own groups. Man tends to throw himself into exile, he runs
away from society because he knows, deep in his heart, although
he will never admit it to himself, that while the God of Fish
loves his creation, the God of Man does not. This antisocial
behavior makes men agitated and, in some cases, maliciously
violent. This makes man less pure, because, agitation and
violence makes men evil and greedy, whereas the purity and
companionship of fishes is holy and righteous.

In closing, I'd just like to say that if man's God had been
as considerate and caring as the God of Fish (Admirl Akbar), that
maybe men would not be as cruel, confused, and without direction
as they are. If man's God had followed the example of the Fish
God, man could have become as pure and as loving as the fish.
Perhaps, if man abandons his God and worships the carefree and
holy fish, he will be saved, not by his own God, but by the
gentle and loving God of Fish.
