MILO LANDING
This is one of those GOOD landings you hear about!

Not all of my landings are at airports!  This one in a Milo field near Derby, Kansas was the result of my adjusting the propeller for too much pitch.  Once aloft and biting into fresh air the prop became "overpitched" and started slowing down the engine.  Lower RPM translated into reduced HP until eventually the engine couldn't produce enough power to fly the plane.  I had to land.

I couldn't make it back to the runway so I chose the milo filed.

No pilot injury (other than pride) but the plane's damage amounted to $600 and two month's worth of repair time.  This flight was also my shortest, at about two minutes.
