My life's defining moments came when I got admission into the temple of learning, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning. My admission was a real blessing showered on me by the Almighty and Iam ever grateful to my Guide, Guardian, and Guru - Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. He took me into His benign fold at the right time in my life - youth, when the external distractions were many. He was the gardener who nourished this plant guarding it from the external vagaries and as a fine sculptor sculpted this rock into a fine statue. What ever Iam today is all because of the fantastic learning I had at the feet of the Lord. Many people ask me why did I do MBA after my M.Sc ? Well my only answer to them is just this: I wanted to stay in that glorious institute for two more years. You may think that I should be out of my mind to talk like that. Well you should experience that institute to understand what I said. It is not just me, majority of the students do that. We, the students are just attached to that institute that no body can understand the bond. Only the students and the Lord share this secret.
The Hostel:
Talking about this glorious institute is incomplete with out mentioning about my very dear hostel. I would say that my major learning took place in the hostel more than in the college. For any stranger, the concept of 14 students staying in one room might be crazy. Well I can aver that the lessons of life taught by that system is unprecedented. The soul of the hostel ofcourse was our dear Lord. Any activity took a divine perspective once it was done with Him as the goal. We were literally taught the Bhagavat Gita way of life. I studied and enjoyed my stay in this hostel for 7 short years. Every time I think of the hostel I become very nostalgic and tears roll down my cheeks yearning for yet another opportunity to be there. How I wish those golden days lasted for ever.
The Brass Band:
Another very nice thing that happened to me during my college days was this brass band. I require another web page to talk just about the band. Every moment in the band was filled with noble lessons. Instead of telling what I did in the band, I think it is apt to just say that I was in the band.
