Seeing that the tomb was open
It had only been three days.
Running back to tell the others
It is empty where He lay!

All the anguish that He suffered
All the cruel things they had done.
“It is finished,” Christ had spoken
At last He is going home.

He is Risen! He is Risen!
To His followers appeared.
Proof of all that He had spoken
And He took away their fears.

Told them He would be returning
When His father sets the hour.
Take to all the world the Gospel
Passed along to them the power.

Now He sits with God the Father
Watching O’er us every day.
Saying follow My example
I’m the truth, the light, the way.

He is Risen! He is Risen!
For us His life He did give
But Praise God the tomb is empty
I know my Redeemer lives.

Hope your Easter Day is happy
Hope your life is bright and gay.
Hope you know the Risen Savior
