The International AIDS Epidemic

Unlike the other topic areas, all of the information for this case study is available on-line.  The Public Broadcasting System has collected an excellent background and overview of the international AIDS epidemic.  Below are the links to each of the web pages that you should read before writing your paper.  There are additional pages, which you may read if you want, but they are not required.  Similar to the other case studies, you do not need to use all of the sources listed, but you should read them first to get a proper perspective.

Unlike the other topics, these pages are arranged by topic, not date, so be careful about when the article that you are reading was produced.  Because these articles are transcripts from news programs, you also must pay attention to who is talking.  They are written like scripts with the speaker identified before each time they speak.  It may be useful to listen to or view some of the programs – especially the panel discussions.  Note: if viewing/listening in one of the school’s labs, you will need headphones to hear anything.
