Welsh Facts



Here are a few facts about Wales the country.



  • At it's narrowest point Wales in only 40 miles wide.

  • 100 miles at it's widest point.

  • There are 400 naturally occuring lakes.

  • There is 732 miles of coastline ( every inch of it being very beautiful .... okay ... i'm biased.)

  • In 1999 the population of Wales was 2.9 million.

  • 77% of the population was born in Wales.

  • There are 16 summits over 2000 feet.

  • Another 7 summits measure over 3000 feet.

  • Five signatories on the American Declaration of Independence originated from Wales.

  • Are you ready for this one .... The longest railway station name in the world is in Wales ..... can you get your tongue around this .....
