Famine in the World Today

Today in the year 2003, famine is a problem in the world. Countries such as a few in Africa are at a high famine level. There is a serious food and water shortage. Both animals and people need water to live, so there is a constant competition for food and water between them. The dry and arid climate of Africa causes a very important need for food and water. The people in Africa do not have enough money to buy food, and vegetation is scarce because of the lack of water. Tribes in Africa work together for everything. Some men usually go hunting animals for food while the women usually cook the food and keep the shelter running.

Richer countries such as the United States of America, Canada, and England, don’t have to worry about famine. People are able to go to the grocery store and choose from thousands of things to buy with the money that they have. Water is supplied from lakes, rivers, and streams, to the sinks and faucets of the houses that the people live in. This luxury is something that everyone takes for granted while there are people living in famine.

As you can see famine is a problem in the smaller poorer countries in the world. There are support groups and missionaries who travel to these less fortunate countries to give food and preach their religion to the people.
