DAY 1 –
As of today I finished
my training. I am now a fierce knight trained for battle at any moment. My
wife, Helga, is proud of my accomplishments, but doesn’t want to see me leave
to fight. I guess she can not stand to know that I could be killed, but I assure
her that my training has taught me how to take care of myself. My son, Henry,
thinks its really cool with all of the violence and
fighting, and he wants to start training as soon as he can to become a knight. And
my daughter doesn’t like the thought of fighting or violence but she likes the
fact that I’m fighting for my family and manor.
DAY 2 –
There are rumors spreading all through out the manor. The crusades are coming. This means I might have to go out and fight. After the second day of being a knight, there is a possible battle soon, and I never thought it would be this way but I am a little nervous. I don’t know why I should be. But I just need to do what I need to do.
DAY 3 –
Still no sign of a war or anything like that. Tomorrow is Sunday and my family and I will be going to church if all goes well. Today was a big day for us. The merchants had a big sale, selling their goods, produce, and merchandise for the needs of the people incase of a battle. After stocking up on what we needed, we walked back to our two room house, and ate a huge dinner finishing up a long day.
DAY 4 –
Today started out good. My family and I went to church and had a good time. After that we went home and did our chores around the manor and house. During this calm afternoon the guard at the gate screamed that they were coming. I quickly went to action and suited up into my knight’s armor. The thieves vandalized everything. They stole food, goods, and destroyed every thing in their path. They came and went taking everything they could leaving our manor in bad shape. It could have been worse but thanks to my fellow knights and I, we stopped a few vandals and chased away the rest.
DAY 5 –
Everything is either gone or destroyed. Four peasants, and two knights were killed, and ten in all were injured, and one infant, is missing. It is a terrible thing that happened, but my family and the rest of the families in our manor are dealing with it well helping each other out.
DAY 6 –
Today everyone is still recovering and the rebuilding process has started. The animal house was rebuilt and 75% of our livestock was found and put back in their pens until we finish everything else. A few houses were burned down and had to be rebuilt from the ground up. Houses that were only destroyed on the inside were cleaned and organized. And with all the help from everyone, the rebuilding process is almost fully complete. We will finish tomorrow.
DAY 7 –
Today we finally
finished rebuilding. Everything is back to the way it was only the people are
still short of money, food, and goods after spending it all on the Merchant
sale and the rebuilding process. After everything was finally finished, I returned
DAY 8 –
The festival was great! Everyone had so much fun and it was a good thing for the people here in the manor to enjoy after all the hard work of rebuilding and training. There were horse shows and special merchant stalls where you could buy rare things. At the end of the festival the band played music for everyone to dance to. It was so much fun.
DAY 9 AND 10 –
I was unexpectedly sent out to fight in battle during the night and ended up with an injury, so I could not write in my journal. The battle was horrible we didn’t do to good. We lost some of our best men and I got shot by an arrow on my arm. Many others were injured as well. But we ended up driving them out as we left. There wasn’t really a victory. But we both lost some warriors.
DAY 11 –
People are getting
sick everywhere. A few people who were sick in the beginning have died and some
others are not doing to good. It doesn’t look good. The word of a plague is
going around. This isn’t good for anyone, and ever since I got back from
fighting, I have not been feeling very good. I hope I will be ok and everyone
else will get well.
