On the day Arthur weds Guinevere he also makes his nephew Gawain a knight.

King Arthur swore his knight’s lands to those that did not have land, charged them
never to do anything outrageous nor to commit murder, always flee treason,
never be cruel, always help a lady, and never to fight for a wrongful reason or
worldly possession.

round table and the 150 knights. This is significant because this is how they
became to be blessed by the Bishop of Canterbury.

Merlin is a Pagan wizard who often casts spells to help out Arthur. Religion in
this story reflects the way any Christian should act towards others.
Understanding Chivalry
1.
The code of conduct that was set for the knights was noble and graceful. It
included charging them never to do anything outrageous nor to commit murder, to
always flee treason, never be cruel, always help a lady, and never to fight for
a wrongful reason or worldly possession.

Merlin’s response to King Arthur about marrying Guinevere fits with the idea of
chivalry because King Arthur mind is set on marrying her and not any other women.
King Arthur remains faithful to his lady love.

Chivalry is alive in the modern world. Soldiers are like knights, they fight
for their country and help and save others in need. They respect and care for
the civilians and remain loyal to them and their country.
