- There
was discontent with the old regime in France
because they every peasant was being taxed and they were getting upset.
- A crow
stormed the Bastille because rumors arose that that the royal troops were
going to occupy the capitol.
- The
slogan of the French revolution was Liberty,
Equality, Fraternity.
- In
1793, Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette were executed because they were
traitors
- The
Reign of Terror part of the revolution where trials where about 40,000
people were killed.
- Napoleon’s reforms
as the leader of France
were modernizing finance and regulated
the economy, encourage new industry and build roads and canals and
promoted schools under the strict government.
- Napoleon
tried to increase power in Europe by putting a ban
to the British goods.
- The
result of Napoleons invasion of Russia
was it brought Napoleon out of power.
- The
congress of Vienna tried to
balance the power in Europe by working out the
frame work for peace. This set the stage for European politics for the
next 100 years.
