| How can I integrate technology into my curriculum? Print Shop Deluxe or Ensemble III: Create a sign with the following information: * Students research 5 facts about any topic and use the text, headline, word balloon, and picture features in Print Shop to display the information. * Students do a book report using the text, headline, word balloon, and picture to display the information. Student Writing Center: Report: Instead of students hand-writing their rough draft or final copy, have them write and edit on the computer. Newsletter: * Have the students create a class newspaper. * Set the newsletter to 3 columns with a masthead and use it for a Science Project form - first column states hypothesis and materials, second column states what they did, and the third column states the results. * Story writing: 3 columns and a masthead - masthead is the title and the characters, first column is the introduction, second column is the problem/events, third column is the ending. Journal: Reading a story about the past or the future? Set the journal date back or forward and have students write as if they were in that time period. Sign: Choose a topic you're already studying and students create a poster on the computer stating information about that topic. |
| Graph Club: * When you're studying graphing in your curriculum, have students create a graph to show the information. Use the "Create" portion of the program. * Use the "Guess" portion of the program. Create a story problem that could relate to the graph that the computer creates. * Need some quick practice for students on recognizing and working with different kinds of graphs? Use the "Explore" and or "Match" portions of the program Word: *Have students do their writing on the computer, rather than on their paper. It sure makes editing a lot easier! * Put the paper on "Landscape" (under File, Page Setup), make 3 columns, and create a travel brochure for an area of the United States/World that you are studying. Use columns for book reports, Science Fair project write-ups |
