| Media Release: June 19 2001 Representatives from Cockatoo Primary School today announced that they will be launching their biggest effort yet at the annual RACV Energy Breakthrough. To be held in Maryborough (Vic) again in November this year. Cockatoo is entering 2 teams in the Pushcart section & with unprecedented enthusiasm & participation, are expecting big things this year. Training has already begun in earnest and will intensify as the date draws closer. Students are currently seeking sponsorship & community support to assist them in the construction of their pushcarts & to cover other asssociated costs such as entry fees, team uniforms etc, Different sponsorship packages are available, & the children at Cockatoo would really appreciate your help. The program has grown steadily since its inception. In 1991 there were 33 entries from 21 schools. In 1999 there were over 30 Innovation in Technology entries, 50 pushcarts, 30 HPV A entries & 85 secondary HPV & Hybrid entries with another 20 or so on the official waiting list. The program is now conducted over 4 days, caters for over 3000 participants & over 10,000 spectators & volunteers.
