Recently Completed

·         Indo-Dutch project on foot pressure measurement and foot stresses in tarsal disintegration of leprotic foot, in collaboration with Eindhoven University of Technology, Eindhoven; Limburg university, The Netherlands; Central Leprosy Teaching and Research Institute, Chengalpattu and Central Jalmia Institute for Leprosy, Agra(Project grant Rs. 30 Lakhs) 

·         Helped in obtaining Rs. 30 lakhs grant for equipments from MHRD, Delhi.

Ongoing
(1996 onwards)

·         New methods of analysis of foot pressure images for detection of plantar ulcers in early stage diabetic neuropathy, in collaboration with diabetic foot clinic, Sundaram Medical Foundation, Annanagar, Chennai. this work has helped to detect, at the early stage, the foot at risk of plantar ulcers in diabetes and provide them properly designed footwear for prevention of foot ulcers and heal ulcers(if they already exist) within a month. Thus, a large number of diabetic subjects from the Southern states have benefitted by this research work.

·         Engaged in the development of a new portable equipment for recording and display of foot pressure parameter for early detection of foot at risk of plantar ulcers.

·         Development of new footwear material for prevention and early healing of diabetic ulcers.

Design and Development Work 

·         A new Pulsatile Roller Pump for use in heart-lung machine and as a Cardiac Assist Device.

·         A new modular polycentric knee-joint above-knee prosthesis with provision for squatting and cross-legged sitting.

·         Human body vertical vibration measurement set up and a new seat suspension system for isolation of vibration

·         Force plate for gait analysis

·         A PC based on-line barographic static and dynamic foot pressure measurement instrumentation system for use in diagnosis and rehabilation of neuropathic foot.
