a mermaid chringed inside a shell
above her head a big black shadow approached
fast - but silent

she thought about swimming away when it had passed
but in that moment -
it stopped

oh no! she thought anxiously
how am I supposed to get out of here
without being caught?

she tried to be silent
but she was truly scared
she even held her breath
so badly that her body started to shake

above the surface
a fisherman parked his boat
the ocean swimmed with fish he thought
so he placed his net
carefully into the sea

he then set the boat in motion
and the net caught everything in it's way
terrific! the fisherman thought
now I'll get plenty of fish
and I can pay the rent

as soon as the shadow started to move
the mermaid saw her chance
finally I can swim away back home
then something strange blocked her way

she tried to break free
she even cried out for help
but the more she faught
the more her chances to get free -
went further and further away

when the fisherman looked at his catch
he got very confused
the net had captured a little pearl
and not one, single fish
