Purple Shampoo

...Welcome...

Welcome to Purple Shampoo. My personal blog page of my life in general and my horse life all told with my rather warped sense of humor. This is the new layout that I made myself. All the info you need about Toby and I is in the boxes to the right of this one above and below the picture of us.This layout again stars my Quarter Horse Aquaris...A.K.A Toby. Yes that's me with Toby, I must say though that I greatly take away from his physical appeal... ahh.. oh well...Enjoy!

Updates!

[07.06.05]
So it's only been 6 months since I updated and to give you a quick run through on whats happening... Home from school for the summer, made the Dean's List, Toby is doing lead changes and we are showing extensively, been too busy working and riding and forgot I had a webpage almost completely. Right so today I updated the personal info so that it's all up to date. Honestly I just read through my other updates and I could see how someone might think I'm certifiable(Wow, did I spell that right...My brain's too scrambled to figure it out) Well Toby did amazing at his show this weekend, we even placed in some stake classes and could have been in the big money if he hadn't dropped a pole. Idiot. Let's see here umm... I can't really think of anything else to say other than in two weeks I'm going back down to LEC to spend time with Jenna and and Armand and go the Merrill Lynch show and watch the Grand Prix.. Should I also mention that we have V.I.P passes... HA! I'm so excited. Anyway I have to go to the barn and take a lesson..........::::Sigh:::: I love riding. - Danielle @ 4:30 PM

Fixed the picture to the right... It was bugging me... I looked kinda fat. Anyway I'm back at school... Lot's of snow...enough said. Anyway nothing fantastic has happen. I did have a lesson last night on Toby, he was great as usual. Ummm... lets see here. I think thats it. Horrible isn't it I have seriously down graded in my social life, homework, class, riding, class, and then more homework. Can you get cabin fever when technically your not strandand in a little room. Do have to be stranded in a room to get cabin fever or that only possible on a ship with pirates and talking parrots? And... right now I just have to much time. Well GTG... C-YA! - Danielle @ 10:55 PM

So it's a new year and I got to thinking that maybe I should update the site you know...at least give it a makeover, I've had this layout up for almost a year now.. sad I know...especially when I use to do new layouts every two weeks. Anyway my break from school has been great. I have over a month off so I brought Toby home over Thanksgiving, then went back to school for a week and a half to finish out the term and take my finals. I can honestly say I did very well my first semeseter. Anyway... Toby has enjoyed being home and we are completely restarting the whole lead changes training because he was getting too freaked out about them. He's jumping better than ever and is still the sweetest and best behaved horse where ever he goes... everyone just loves him. But I'm going to go and see if I can get my laptop to let me plan out a new layout. BYE!!! OH! Happy New Year! -Danielle @ 11:19 am

I would say that I have all sorts of excuses for not updating but really why? No one cares and no one reads what I have to say anyway except a select few of my friends and family who want to know whats happening through out my college life...But to get on to whats happening in my life... not much! Okay let's see here I finished my first semester of college, it was so much fun and flew past. I learned a ton about riding and Toby learned a lot too. I must say that from all the work he did he has an ass that looks like a quarter horse ass. Anyway I'm home for the holidays... for some reason we get over a month off, so I brought Toby home for a vacation. Everyone has commented on how he looks and everything. Right so umm... Hey I just found out the sixth Harry Potter book comes out July 16th, 2005. That was the Highlight of my week.I know what you're thinking... Yes, I do have a life... a very active life. I hang out with my friends since they're home from school too and at college I do the same thing, I ride Toby religously, I do homework and study... and there's other things I can't think of at the moment. Hey! Phantom of the Opera comes out today...:::Sighs::: can't wait to see it. Anyway I need to update the stuff about me and Toby now that I've rattled on about abosolutely nothing. -Danielle 1:05 pm

Meet... Me!! Scroll down

Name: Danielle

Nick Name(s): Land-O-Lakes (I guess I look like the girl on the butter container... My only thought is that a certain person had way too much time on his hands) and of course Mrs. Toby.

Age: 19 years and a Sophmore in college

Car: 2004 Pontiac Grand Am... I bought it myself thank you

School: I go to Lake Erie College

Degree: Equine Studies stud farm management or training

Hobbies: Horses, Horses and Horses (Whoo Hoo! Now that I think about it though that makes me sound like a dork.) Swimming, Reading, Driving around, Hanging out with friends, and whatever else strikes me at the time. (Now that I'm on a roll and thinking a lot... it all makes me sound like a dork)

Animals: 4 dogs; Sydney a 4 yr Weimaraner(sp?), 2 weim puppies Paris and Sassy, Libby a 8 yr Lab/Shep mix, Toby a 8 yr Quarter Horse. I also recently bought 2 gold fish to keep me company in my rather boring dorm... their names are Seabicuit and Clyde

Riding: I have been riding since I was 6 at most. I rode Western until about 8 years ago when I decided that Western wasn't thrilling enough for me. Somehow racing around barrels and hacking just didn't challenge me enough. So 8 years ago I got in touch with a wonderful instructor (former Olympian) and I now ride English. I compete on the Hunter/Jumper circut with my wonderful horse. We actually do very well Placing in almost every class we enter.(Especially with him being green and a baby)Most recently I am still training with my Instructor at home bu I've enrolled into the Equestion program at LEC. Were I not only take riding lessons from my wacky trainer but also have to take riding classes for my degree.

Favorite books: The sad reality of it is I read all the time pretty much anything I can get my hands on, however I do have a few favorites such as; Harry Potter, Mercades Lackney, Melanie Rawn's Exiles, Riders by Jilly Cooper, anything fantasy or historical really. I love period novels... I'm something of a history buff. .

Why I started PS: Because I'm one of those people that goes around to all those horsey webpages and looks at them for hours, just for a daily dose of horses. So I wanted to make one that was simple to understand, fun, and easy for all ages to enjoy. However over th past 6 years its really turned into a site for me to blog on and for my friends and family to keep up with me

Registered Name: Throughly Tenasious

Show Name: Aquarius

Barn Name: Toby

Nick Name(s):Mr. Toby, Toby Keith, Tobbers, The Big Red, Toby Travis, Little Man

Color: Dark red chestnut

B-day: May 6th 1998

Age: 7 yrs

Most embarressing moment: Spooking at a rock... But its understandable seeing as the last time he saw a rock that big was when he was gelded. And the fact that he has D.I.D also known as Multiple personalities.... you have to know him to understand... Cause I'm not explaining it, it takes way too much time.

Best Moment(s): In our first show during the medal class, we were going through a 4 line and he spooked at the tractor dragging the next ring (I'm not sure why they decided to drag the ring at that moment but I hope later in life the person suffers... j/k)He still did the line in 4 strides...just over jumped by a lot... heres picture of the jump he took while spooking. Also in one of our first lessons at LEC Armand set up a 6 line with a 3'6" vertical to a 3'6" oxer, yes well we did it in only 4 strides.
Toby at Show

Obessions: Pellets and begging (specifically someone taught him to crib for more food... so thats how he begs.) for treats.

Weird quirks: Toby will eat anything you give him, I mean anything, even the Knicker bars that most horses hate... but sweetfeed.

Faults: He loves everyone! He's constantly trying to rub you and when you clean his stall he's all in your face wanting to be loved. And when I bend down to do his feet he tends to pull up my shirt and lick my back...which is actually really gross...considering.Maybe I should just say he has a weird thing were he licks everything. Did I also mention he's an escape artist.

What's great about him: He's so laid back. He never spooks at anything really. We go on trail rides in places he's never been and he could care less. Hes a cute jumper and very smart he's progressing very fast for being so green and loves every moment. He loves going to shows and is better behave there then he is at home.
