I also found out that one of the daycare centers is staying open til midnight now. I don't blame the parents really. A lot of them have been conditioned to place their kids in a learning place. They have forgotten that kids learn best when they are playing. OK enough complaining. God will send the kids I need, I just have to hang on til they get here. I do have time to do some things to the house I haven't had time for before so all is not bad. This weekend I have no kids at all so I can finish painting the toy room. It was all done but one of the kids put holes in the walls. I hate sheetrock, it breaks very easy. I got some hard wood to put up, trim on top of that. it looks good but doesen't match the rest of room. So in the morning I'm going to paint in the sea and fishes to match the rest of room. I'm going to put in a cave this time. It will be a blackboard. I found some blackboard paint that will be pretty neat. By Monday am it should all be dry and aired out. I might even have time to build some shelves I've been thinking about putting up. I'm going to mount shelves above the doors and windows going around the rooms. I've got over 1000 books in storage and really want them back in the house. Can't have them where the kids can reach them. I think I've figured out how to make the high shelves safe. I'll have to put a piece of wood in front like I was making a box. Then the books won't fall off the shelves if the door slams, of kids hit the wall with a toy or their feet. It means that I'll have to measure the books and figure out which shelves have to be how wide. I can always put the outsized books in my room. I don't really have a lot of those. Jason is off work this weekend so he can help move books home. Now I'm getting excited. The problem of keeping the books from falling off the shelves was the only thing stopping me. Now it is solved. OK now I have to quit so I can get busy drawing what I'm going to be cutting out. Talk at ya later. |
