I am currently studying BA(hons) European Fashion at The Kent Institute of Art & Design; at the momment I am in the second year, and next term I will be going away to Australia to do work experience as a part of my course. I am originally from Cornwall, England, were I studied art, media studies and textiles & product design at college.
Work Experience: Working for "Doll" Production company, on off schedule London Fashion Week 2003/04 shows. This involved working with a number of designers, organising, dressing and changing models outfits, setting up the catwalk area, distributing promotional merchendise & greeting the public.
Inspirations: These include design labels such as Comme des Garcon, Julian & Sophie, Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto; artists like Patrick Heron, Anthoney Gormley and Barbara Hepworth.
Previous projects (can bee seen on my portfoilio link) include designing a range for high street store Topshop, which was named "Ladykickflips" and was inspired by Urban Skater wear. A maternity diffusion line for British company "Frost French"; a capsule collection aimed at the high end of the market, created created in white fabric, with lots of fabric manipulation; a Creative Cut project, which involved experimenting with various different pattern cutting techniques, until I developed one that ioncorporated the paintings of Patrick Heron. I am currently involved in a group project that involves taking a company (in this case Liberty, finding a gap in its product line, and designing and making examples of a new line to fill that gap.? |
