You Belong To Me
CH 1
Nik sat on the huge rock as the waves came crashing around him; he took deeps
breaths as he let the salty air fill his lungs. He listened to the sounds of
seagulls flying above his head. The sun was warm on his dark skin and he closed
his eyes. Just feeling the waves crash into the rocks. His busy life was slowed
in this moment, nothing to worry or think about. He opened his eyes and that’s
when he saw her, the outline of her body as it walked along the beach. He
couldn’t see her face but her body was that of a goddess. She was tall, and
her long braids were sprawled out wildly on top of her shoulders. An
overwhelming need to go to her came over him as he watched her. He felt his body
being pulled towards her; he stood up to go to her. As he walked closer her, his
feet sinking in the soft sand as he walked, he could see that the outline of her
body was gorgeously illuminated in a pink glow of the sun that was now setting
at the horizon. She was watching the ocean as he approached her, her shoulders
looked so smooth in the white cotton sundress she had on. Her mocha colored skin
looked so warm, so inviting. He reached out to touch her, just as his hand was
about to reach its destination she disappeared.
Nik sat up in his bed, it was so real, she was so real. He looked around him and
realized where he was, in his bed at Wyndemere. He looked over at the figure in
the bed next to him. Her blond hair was draped across the pillow as her back was
to him. Her bare shoulder was exposed on top of the dark satin sheet as it was
tucked under her arm. He leaned over her to see that she was still sleeping.
Sarah had been his girlfriend for a little over a year. He kissed her shoulder
and rolled over on his back again. He looked up at the ceiling and tried to
remember his dream. He smiled as he faintly remembered the feel of the ocean
around him. The sight of the stranger walking along the beach with her graceful
stride. He shook his head and got up out of bed, trying to shake the dream.
Walking over to the computer on his desk in the corner of the room, Nik turned
it on and began to work. Nikolas was an heir to the Cassadine throne, and he
soon would be taking on the role of the prince. His uncle raised him to be the
best Cassadine to ever rule the family and that’s what he would be.
After working for a while, Nik looked up from the screen and looked back over at
the bed. He could make out the outline of Sarah’s body from where he sat. He
thought about the woman he was looking at. She was beautiful, blond hair and
blue eyes. She was currently working at GH as head resident. She had all the
qualities a guy could want and more. Both his and her families were expecting
for Nik to propose to her but for some reason he was hesitant. He just didn’t
feel like she was the one.
Nik shut down the computer, thinking it was safe to try and sleep again. He
stood up and made his way over to the bed, where he got in behind Sarah. She
stirred but he soothed her as he wrapped his arms around her. Try as he might,
Nikolas still could not sleep. Thoughts of his bream kept coming back to him.
He hadn’t even seen her face, the mystery woman on the beach but the feeling
of her presence lingered on. He sighed. He never had reoccurring dreams so he
knew that the dream he had hours before would probably be the last time he
dreamt of her. For some reason he felt in pain in his chest at the thought of
that. He lay awake for a few more hours until he fell asleep again, just as the
sun was rising outside.
