Gia was not at all impressed with Nik’s friends. This Liz girl was something else. She was so annoying and she couldn’t see why this little gang seemed to like her so much. Emily and Courtney seemed OK but she got the feeling that they were just being nice to her because Nik was there and she knew that the minute she left they would be talking about her. Oh and this Shane guy was starting to make her uncomfortable. He was so quiet and shy and he kept looking at her. Lucky was the only one she liked but his little leech would never leave his side.
“So Gia, we know that your family is from Spain but you don’t seem like you were raised there, did you grow up somewhere else?” Em asked. “My parents sent me away to school in Brooklyn. I lived there with my aunt until recently.” She said glaring at Nik, who was sitting across from her. “I really miss it there but my parents made me come here so I had to.” Gia said, still looking at Nik. “Well, I’m sure your parents had their reasons.” Liz said. Gia snapped her hard glare over to Liz. “And I’m sure you don’t know what the hell your talking about!” Gia said, sharply. Gia had to wonder about this little group of people. The biggest question that went through her head is how Nik could be friends with someone like Liz.
Nik wasn’t saying much as they sat with his friends at Kelly’s. He would look over at Gia and he knew that she wasn’t having a good time and that she didn’t like his friends. He thought the only one she liked was Lucky but when Liz was sitting next to him, she didn’t seem to talk much to him either. When Em started to ask Gia questions, part of him was curious so hear what she had to say, but the other part didn’t want to know. He noticed Gia’s look of hatred towards him when Em asked about her coming here. He wanted so badly not to see that hatred in her eyes toward him. When she and Liz started getting into a little spat, he thought it might be a good time for them to leave.
“Hey Gia you ready to go?” Nik asked before Liz had a chance to return Gia’s remark. “Beyond.” Gia said. “Lucky it was nice to meet you.” Gia said, touching his hand quickly before getting up. Liz looked like she was going to kill her. “Well, you guys take it easy.” Gia said nodding to the rest of the table. She quickly walked out the door and headed for the car. Nik looked at all his friends and laughed at the looks on their faces. Lucky’s was one of pure astonishment and the rest looked disgusted. “So that was the future Mrs. Cassadine!” Nik said smiling. Lucky was the only one who smiled back. Nik shook his head and left with a huge grin on his face.
“What?” Gia said when Nik entered the car with a smile on his face. “Man that was great!” He said happily. Gia looked at him as if he had grown horns. “You mean to tell me you had fun just now?” Gia asked. Nik looked over at her. “I tolled all my friends that they were going to meet a princess today, I don’t think your what they had in mind.” Nik said. “What, I don’t seem like a princess to you?” Gia asked, cocking her eyebrow. “Actually, yeah you do.” He laughed. “What they think that a princess is, is not what I know them to be.” Nik said. “Oh?” Gia questioned. “I’ve met a lot of princesses growing up and they’re all snobby like you.” Nik said. “Hey, I am not snobby! I just don’t like you!” Gia defended. “Oh right!” “Oh my rooms OK I guess.” “I’ve seen much nicer castles than this old thing.” Nik said, in a mocking voice. Gia glared at him. “Hey, I grew up in a New York apartment OK?” “Not like you in your huge palace.” Gia retorted back. “Oh come on, it’s not like you struggled.” "And you went home on school brakes." Nik said. “Hey I’m just saying that I wasn’t pampered like you were and still are.” Gia said turning to face the window. Nik gave up and started the car.
The ride home was quiet. Nik was kicking himself for his little childish argument with Gia. This didn’t help their already apparent problems. He looked over at her and he could tell she was mad. Her arms were crossed and her face was hardened. He sighed.
“OK we’re here sparky!” Nik said getting out of the car, walking to her
side and opening the door for her. Gia said nothing and marched past him up to
the launch. She ignored him the whole rest of the way to Wyndemere.
Stefan was sitting in the living room reading a book when the two came in. “Ah, did you two have a nice time?” He asked. “Yeah it was nice.” Gia said nodding, flashing him a fake smile. “Where are my parents?” Gia asked. “Oh well there was a problem that your father needed to take care of in Spain so they needed to leave.” “They are leaving me in charge of your care.” “They said that they probably wouldn’t be back until the wedding in three months.” Stefan said. Gia was in shock. She felt the blood draining from her head. “So they just left?” She asked. “Yes, they plan on calling when they arrive home.” Stefan said. Gia felt like she couldn’t breath. She had always thought that she had time to talk her parents into changing their minds about this, she never thought they would just leave like this. She was being left with two men she barely knew. She started to slowly shake her head no. This couldn’t be happening. She looked over at Nikolas and felt trapped. She needed to be alone. Gia headed for her room. “Gia.” Nik said gently as he tried to reach for her as she passed. She shook her head fiercely and dodged him. She ran upstairs to her new room and plopped herself on the bed and sobbed into her pillow.
