Uninvited CH 5
Nik couldn’t sleep all night. Thoughts of Gia kept popping into his head. He couldn’t figure out what it was about her that intrigued him so much. She was not the kind of woman he was use to. She was like an enigma to him. He was just dieing to figure her out. Nik thought about the conversation he had last night with Gia. He could tell that she was not happy with the arrangement her parents made for her. He had to admit that it would be very hard for her; it was not like it was for him. Unlike Nik, Gia never knew that she had to marry someone her parents picked out for her until a month ago. Whereas Nik knew pretty much his whole life what his future would be. He knew that Gia must have been devastated when she found out. So part of him felt bad for her, but the other part of him ached for her to feel the way he did about her. He decided he would just have to work hard to get her to change her mind about him.
Gia woke up to a gentle breeze blowing through the open window. She had the best night of sleep she’d ever had. The bed was so big and comfortable and the white silk sheets felt wonderful on her bare skin. At first she didn’t know where she was. She was happy and felt great but then she looked around and remembered where she was and that sinking feeling she kept having lately came rushing back. Thoughts of Nikolas popped in her head and her heart fluttered. “Damnit Gia stop thinking about him” she said to herself. She thought about Zander instead. Thoughts of him always made her smile. She loved him so much. She couldn’t wait for him to come visit.
Gia got up and looked at her room. It really was beautiful. The whole wall was practically window the sheer off white curtains let the light poor through. The French doors led to a beautiful terrace that you could see the lovely grounds of the estate from. Her bed was a canopy bed with sheer gauzy material draped around it. The bathroom and closets were huge, with beautiful marble tiles on the ground. The room was huge and homey. It was very light and warm, unlike the rest of the place.
Gia took a shower and got dressed for the
day. Sighing, she looked in the mirror. She was tolled last night that she would
be showed around town by Nikolas so she decided to go casual. She has on a pair
of blue jeans, with specks of glitter all over them, a white v-neck tank top and
a pair of white Van’s on her feet. Her braids where pulled up in a high
ponytail, causing braids to spill wildly down her shoulders. Not the typical
look for a princess, but she was not the typical anything. She grabbed a pair of
sunglasses, took a deep breath and headed down the stairs.
Nik was reading the paper at the table. His uncle had taken Gia’s parents out
for lunch at the grill. He was excited to have the house to himself when Gia
would wake up. He was starting to get a little worried about her. It was getting
late and she still wasn’t up yet. He planed on taking her to Kelly’s and
introducing her to his friends. He wasn’t sure how they would all get alone
but he was dieing to show her off to Lucky. He could tell that his brother would
get a kick out of this girl. Nik decided to wear something casual. He wore a
pair of black jeans, a dark green knit sweater and a pair of black boots. His
hair was newly cut, short and kind of spiky.
Nik was still reading the paper when he heard footsteps sounding out side the door. He looked up when the door to the kitchen swung open and Gia came into view. He was once again struck by her beauty. He thought that maybe the feelings he was having about her last night were all in his head and maybe she wasn’t as captivating as he thought she was, but as she stood in front of him now he knew that that was not the case.
“Hey there sparky!” Nik said with a bright smile on his face. Gia scrunched up her face briefly. “My name is not sparky.” Gia stated. “Yeah, I know but that’s my new nickname for you, I think it’s suits you.” Nik said. “OK...” Gia said. “So where is everyone?” She said looking around the empty kitchen. “Lunch.” Nik said. “You do know its lunch time right? I guess you slept well.” Nik said. Gia rolled her eyes. “Maybe I was just hiding from you.” She said, raising her eyebrow. Nik smiled at her. “Oh you know you can’t stay away from me sparky.” He said. Gia once again rolled her eyes and took a seat at the table, she crossed her arms in front of her. “So, what’s the plan for today?” She asked. “Oh I thought we’d stay here and make rude comments to each other all day, sound like fun to you?” Nik asked. “Tons” Gia said, sarcastically. Nik chuckled. “No, I thought I’d go introduce you to some of my friends. And I thought we could have lunch together too.” Nik said. “Sounds like fun.” Gia said with little enthusiasm. Nik noticed this but said nothing. “So you like your room?” Nik asked. Gia nodded. “Yeah it’s ok.” She said. Nik sighed; this girl was just not softening. “So, you were pretty tired huh?” He asked. Gia nodded. “Yep.” She said. This was not like her. She was not usually this quiet. But she felt like the less she talked the easier it would be to make him not like her, that and being rude to him. “So you ready to go?” Nik asked. “Sure.” Gia said standing. Nik walked up to her and tried to hold her hand but she wouldn’t take it.
