Uninvited CH 34

Gia padded down the stairs, she didn’t know how she was going to keep herself busy today. Nikolas was in some kind of meeting or something and so she was left home. She headed into the den and then walked up to the door of Stefan’s office. She wanted to talk to him about something anyway and this would give her a good opportunity to do that. She knocked on the door and waited for him to answer, stepping in when he did. “Hi.” Gia said smiling. “Hello princess.” He said smiling back. “Can I talk to you about something?” Gia asked. “Of course, please have a seat.” Stefan said sitting down in a chair and gesturing to the one across from him. “It there something wrong?” Stefan asked. “Well I have been thinking about the future, Nikolas and I being married. I want to know if you think that I will make a bad representative of your family, if you think I’ll make a bad Cassadine Princess.” Gia said looking him in the eye. “Gia, of course I don’t think that.” Stefan said. “I just want you to know that I’m not going to be a perfect person, I make mistakes and I’m sure I won’t be able to keep my mouth shut about things. I’m not going to let people take advantage of me and I’m going to stand strong. Are you sure you want that?” Gia asked. “Gia, have you talked to Nikolas about these concerns of yours?” Stefan asked. “No.” Gia said softly.

Nikolas smiled as he headed home from his meeting, grateful that it went quick. Things between he and Gia seemed to be going great. After their not so great dinner with his brother and Liz, Nik spent the night making it up to her in the bedroom. Now all he wanted to do was spend some time with her. He walked up to Wyndemere and opened the front door. It seemed to be empty; he knew that his uncle would be home so he walked through the den, heading for the door to Stefan’s office. He smiled as he heard Gia’s voice coming from the room, as the door was open. He quietly walked in; she didn’t even know he was there. “Gia have you talked to Nikolas about these concerns of yours?” Stefan asked. “No.” He heard her say softly. “Talk to me about what?” Nik asked as he placed his hands on her shoulders, he felt her jump under his sudden touch. She turned around and looked up at him shyly. “What’s up?” He asked. “Nothing.” Gia said shaking her head. “Gia, talk to me.” Nik said touching her face. “Nikolas, I’m just not sure if you’ll want me to be your wife. I know that you love me, you show me that all the time but I don’t know if you would want me to be your wife. I’m not your average princess, your average women, if you want someone who’s going to be sophisticated and proper, I’m not her.” Gia said. Before Nikolas could say anything, Stefan interrupted them. “Can I have a moment to speak to Gia please Nikolas?” Stefan asked. Nik hesitated but gave in; he nodded at his uncle and left the room.

Gia watched Nikolas walk out of the room and turned to look at Stefan, he had a kind smile on his face. “Gia, when I met your parents so many years ago, they were very kind to me. Your mother, she’s so smart and stubborn, much like you. And your father, he’s quick-witted, incredibly intelligent and very dedicated to his country. I knew that you would be the perfect mixture of the two, that’s what I wanted for my family. Nikolas needs someone like you in his life, not some weak little princess, but a strong, gutsy woman. That’s what you are Gia.” Stefan said, his voice seeping with honesty. Gia had tears in her eyes as he spoke. “Thank you.” She said softly. She stood up and wrapped her arms around him, pulling back and placing the lightest of kisses on his lips. “Nikolas is so much like you, he wouldn’t be the man I love without your support in his life, thank you.” Gia said. She pulled away and smiled at him before she walked out to join Nikolas.

Gia found Nikolas sitting at the bottom of the stairs and quietly sat down next to him. She laid her head in his lap, closing her eye when she felt him run his fingers through her thin braids. “Will you talk to me?” He said softly into her exposed ear. “I don’t want to disappoint you Nikolas but I’m not exactly the easiest person to get along with, I can’t be your trophy wife, I’m not perfect.” She said looking forward. Nik gently took her shoulders and lifted her up right and looked at her concerned face. “Gia, I don’t want some snobby little frilly princess. I want a princess Sparky, someone who is loving, strong, funny, beautiful and yes stubborn. I want you Gia.” Nik said looking into her eyes. Gia smiled and leaned in for a kiss. “I love you Nikolas.” Gia said smiling. “I love you too Sparky.” Nik said smiling back. “Stubborn!” Gia said smacking his arm. Nik laughed. “Yes Gia, I think you are the most stubborn person I know.” Nik said smiling. Gia stuck her tongue out at him. “See.” Nik said laughing. Gia glared at him. “You’re not helping yourself here Honey.” Nik said smiling. “OK fine, I’m stubborn but so are you.” Gia said. “No I’m not!” Nik said frowning. Gia laughed, causing Nik to laugh as well, Nik’s smile lingered as he moved his face closer to hers, and slowly their lips met and locked in a kiss.
