Uninvited CH 30

Gia paced around Stefan’s office, waiting for him to return. She was becoming impatient as her heart raced. He told her not to do anything until he got back. She turned when the door to the office opened, anxious to know what went on. When she turned around she was surprised to see Nikolas in the door, he looked suspicious of her.

After Gia left him alone in the dining room, Nik cried, not understanding what went on. He knew that Gia did not mean what she said. Something was off and he was going to find out what. He needed Stefan’s help so he headed for is office. He pushed the door open and was surprised to see Gia in there. She slowly turned around to look at him, looking like she had just been caught.

“What are you doing in here?” Nik asked. “I was just waiting for Stefan.” Gia said looking over at him. Nik nodded his head slowly. “So when are you leaving?” Nik asked quietly. “I don’t know.” Gia said softly. Nik approached her. “Will you talk to me?” Nik asked as he reached out to touch her cheek. “Nikolas I can’t do this.” Gia said as she started to leave.

The door swung open and Gia froze as she heard Stefan start to speak, not knowing Nikolas was in the room “Well, Helena is definitely out to break up this arrangement Gia.” Stefan said not looking up. Gia began to panic; she slowly turned around to face Nikolas.

“Helena?” Nik yelled. “Oh Nikolas, I didn’t know you were in here.” Stefan said. “Obviously, is Helena behind this?” Nik said looking Gia directly in the eye. “Yes.” She said softly. Nik walked up to her briskly and stopped directly in front of her. Gia recoiled slightly at his sodden movement. “What did she do?” Nik asked. “She kidnapped me, and she told me I had to, that I had to find a way to put an end our marriage arrangement.” Gia said looking down. “So you came home intending to end things? You lied to my face and told me you didn’t love me?” Nik said looking down at her. Tears were flowing feely from Gia’s eyes as she looked at the ground. “Yes Nikolas, I did. I was so scared that she would hurt you, I had to do what she said, I was just so scared. I still am, I think we should just do what she wants. I’ll leave I’ll go back to Brooklyn.” Gia rambled. She gasped when Nikolas pulled her towards him, his lips crashing down on hers in a powerful kiss. He pulled away and looked into her eyes. “I love you Gia, do you love me?” Nik asked. Gia let out a sad moan. “Oh Nikolas I love you so much.” Gia said, her voice heavy with emotion. “Then we’ll get through this. I’m going to take care of this, you trust me don’t you?” Nik asked, touching her face. “More than anything.” Gia said softly. The two kissed until they could no longer breathe, panting when they pulled apart. “God Gia if she hurt you. Did she hurt you?” Nik asked. Gia looked down. “Shane, he tried to choke me to death, I’ve never been so scared Nikolas I thought I was going to die. My mind started to slip and I just kept picturing your face.” Gia said. She tilted her head back to reveal the bruises that had formed over night on her neck. Nik gasped as tears stung his eyes. “Oh Gia, I’m so sorry that happened to you. I can’t believe I wasn’t there to protect you.” Nik said as his tears now flowed down his face. Gia pulled him in for a hug. “No Nikolas this was not your fault, its Helena’s and we’re not going to let her get away with it.” Gia said holding on to him. Nik nodded his head.

Nikolas finally turned around and faced his uncle, who had been waiting patiently for them, admiring the love that he saw between the two. “Where is she?” Nik asked. “She’s staying at the Port Charles hotel Nikolas, don’t worry I’ll take care of her.” Stefan said. Nik shook his head. “No way, I’m going to uncle.” Nik said stubbornly. “No Nikolas please, I don’t want anything to happen to you.” Gia begged gripping his arm. Nik faced her. “Gia she tried to hurt the woman I love, she can’t get away with that and she needs to know that I’m serious when I say to never come near you again.” Nik said looking into her pleading eyes. Gia shook her head. “No, please.” She said sadly. “Nikolas she’s right, you should let me take care of this.” Stefan said. Nik looked up at his uncle and Stefan knew there was no reasoning with him. “Fine, but be careful.” Stefan said. Nik could feel Gia’s grip getting tighter on his arm. He gave his uncle a look and Stefan nodded, he left the two alone. The moment he was gone Gia wrapped her arms around Nik’s neck. “I won’t let you do this Nikolas, I’ve seen what that woman can do and I’m not letting you go see her. I just found you, I can’t loose you now.” Gia said holding him tightly. Nik unraveled her arms, taking great effort as they were clamped so tightly. “Gia listen to me, I’m going and you can’t stop me.” He said. “OK then I’m going with you.” Gia said boldly. “Out of the question Gia, you’re staying here and I’m going to take care of Helena.” Nik said firmly. “No!” Gia yelled as her hands remained clamped down on his arms. He roughly removed them. “Stop it Gia!!” Nik roared, causing her to flinch. She stepped away from him and wrapped her arms around herself. “Please.” She cried.

Nik headed for the door, sobs were now escaping Gia’s mouth as she stood in the center of the room. He turned around and looked at her, he shouldn’t have done that because she ran over to him with one final plea as she clung to him. He roughly pushed her away, causing her to fall to the ground. His chest tightened, not wanting to have done what he just did. Gia looked up at him from the floor, the look on her face made his heart sink, making it difficult for him to breathe. “I love you.” He whispered before running out of the door with tears viciously falling from his eyes.

Gia watched Nikolas walk out the door, wondering if she would ever see him again. Her life was just beginning to make sense, and now she could loose it all. She sobbed, cried out in pain for a while, sitting in the same spot she had been in since Nik put her there. She stopped and thought about it, she couldn’t sit around and do nothing. Gia slowly stood up and made her way to the door, she looked around for Stefan and didn’t see him anywhere. She grabbed her coat and ran out the door.
