Uninvited CH 28

Nikolas walked into Jakes with murder on his mind; he was looking for one person, Zander. He had his men keeping and eye on him so he knew just where to find him. He was living in a small room above Jakes. He walked right past a questioning Jake, ignoring her angry comments about not allowing any visitors at the hour. He marched right up the stairs and found his room. He pounded on the door. Zander groggily opened the door. “What do you want?” He asked Nik coldly. Nik grabbed for him and in an instant had him turned around with his arm wrapped around his neck. “Where is she?” Nik spat in his ear. Zander could barely breathe from the hold Nik had on him. “Who?” He managed to ask. “Don’t give me that shit!” Nik yelled. “Nikolas what are you talking about?” Zander asked. “Gia? Where the hell is Gia?!” Nik said angrily as he jerked his arm tighter. “I don’t know I swear! Ask any of your men, I haven’t been around her at all.” Zander said desperately. “I don’t believe you!” Nik yelled. “Look in my apartment Nikolas.” Zander said. Nik pushed Zander into his small apartment. He scanned the room with his eyes in search for her; he looked over at the bed in the corner of Zander’s room and saw a woman laying in it. Nikolas could see from where he stood that she was blond, and definitely not Gia. He let go of Zander. Desperate tears began to fill his eyes. “Where is she then?” Nik whispered. “I don’t know. We need to find her.” Zander said. Nik shook his head. “No, you stay out of it.” Nik said. He turned and left, not knowing what to do next.

Gia was riding in the back of a black Cadillac, Shane was driving and she was left alone in the back. Helena’s words were replying in her head.

“You see my dear, that’s not OK with me. Nikolas is a prince, and he doesn’t need to be married to a half-breed like you.” Helena said. Gia eyed her. “But he’s a “half -breed” as you say.” Gia said confused. Helena shook her head. “Exactly why he doesn’t need to be married to you. He needs to be married to full blood princess, not some common whore like you.” Helena said. Gia's eyes darkened from her spot on the bed. She could fully see Helena’s face now and it was cold and hard. “You don’t scare me you witch. I’m a princess and if anything I’m too good to be in your whacked- out family, but I love Nikolas.” Gia said angrily. Helena’s eyebrows rose. “Oh well, I see you think you have some guts, trust me you little runt. You don’t want to mess with me.” Helena said. She gave Shane a signal and he walked up to Gia’s bed. He began to touch her face, and Gia screamed as his hands started to travel down. They brushed the top of her cleavage first, his thumbs riding the curves of her breasts but he pushed them up, clamping down around her neck. Gia squirmed violently and tried to scream but nothing came out. Just when Gia felt like she couldn’t bare it any longer, he let go. “You see my dear, it’s that easy for me to kill you.” Helena said. Gia’s eyes lightly rimmed with tears. “What do you want?” She asked in a whisper. “I want you to put an end to this engagement.” Helena said. “It won’t work, I tried getting him to hate me at first, before I fell in love with him. He didn’t back down, he wouldn’t let me get to him.” Gia said. “I’m afraid that’s none of my concern, now you put an end to it however you can or I will do it my way. And you have a week to do it.” Helena said. Gia cringed at the thought. After a long pause, Gia made her decision, either break Nikolas’ heart or let Helena hurt him, or her. “Fine, I’ll do it.” Gia said. Helena smiled. “Good, Shane you can take her back now.” Helena said as she walked out the door as confidently as she strode in.

Gia now sat in her seat with tears streaming down her face; she wondered how she was going to tell him where she was. But even more then that, she wondered how she would break his heart.

Nikolas paced back and forth in the kitchen at Wyndemere. He had been waiting like everyone said he should be. He waited impatiently for news about Gia. He was starting to loose his cool when he heard the front door open and then close. He ran out of the kitchen and that’s when he saw her. Relief washed over him as he looked into her eyes. He stood there just looking at her for what seemed like an eternity. Letting his eyes take her in before he ran to her. His arms wrapped around her and he felt her crying into his shoulder. Tears were falling down his face as well as he held onto her. “Oh god Gia I was so worried. What would I do without you?” He asked desperately as he placed kisses all along her neck.

Gia walked into the house and it was so quite, she heard him rush to the door and push it open. He stood there staring at her for what seemed like eternity to Gia. She felt so loved and so wanted when he looked at her. She saw his body relax as relief washed over him. She watched him move towards her and immediately walked into his loving embrace. She clung to him and cried into his shoulder. What would he do with out me? Oh god. She cried harder as she felt his soft lips on her neck. She began to sob as she thought about what she had to do. “Shh.” Nik whispered as he held her tight, kissing away her tears. “You’re here now, what happened Gia?” He asked as he pulled away slightly. “Someone tried to take me, if it wasn’t for Shane here I wouldn’t be talking to you.” Gia said.

Nik finally noticed Shane standing there and pulled away from her a little more. His arm still remained wrapped around Gia’s shoulders. “What do you mean someone tried to take you?” Nik asked. “I went out to get that CD for Kristina and someone grabbed me. They drug me all the way to the docks, that’s where Shane found me. He went home to go get something and he was on his way back to the party.” Gia said. “Gia who did this to you?” Nik asked. “I don’t know I never saw their face.” Gia said. “They ran off before I could catch them.” Shane said. Nik stuck his hand out to Shane, wanting him to shake it. “Thank you so much man.” Nik said. Gia looked away as the two men engaged in a friendly exchange of words. Shane left and told Nikolas that he would file a police report in the morning but needed to apologize to Emily for taking off on her.

Gia clung to Nikolas, afraid to leave his side. “Nikolas.” Gia started to panic as tears fell down her face again. “Hey it’s OK, Shh.” Nik said as he pulled her in for another hug. “Don’t let me go.” Gia begged. “I won’t I promise, never.” Nik said softly as he kissed her forehead. Nik picked her up and carried her upstairs where he placed her on the bed. Gia wouldn’t let him leave her side so they stayed fully clothed as they lay in each other’s arms. Nik fell asleep that way, Gia didn’t.
