Uninvited CH 27
Nik sat at the table engrossed in the conversation he was having with his aunts.
He liked his new aunt more and more with every minute he spent with her; she had
so much energy and a great personality. “So yeah Gia was really hard to get
along with at first, and she still is for the most part but I love her.” Nik
said, glancing over his shoulder out of habit expecting to see Gia sitting
there. It all of the sodden dawned on him that she was not there. Remembering
that she had gone to the car quite some time ago. “Where is Gia anyway? How
long has it been since she went out to the car?” Nik asked. Kristina did the
same as Nikolas and started thinking about it. “I think it’s been like
20mins.” Kristina said. Nik stood up and scanned the room. He didn’t see her
anywhere. “Oh god where is she.” Nik said as he started to panic. “Nikolas
calm down, we’ll find her. Come on lets ask around and see if anyone’s seen
her before we worry too much.” Alexis said standing. They went around the room
and looked for her, asking if anyone had seen her. After coming up with nothing,
Nik had an idea. “I’ll go check outside.” Nik said heading towards the
door.
Nik stepped out of the restaurant and headed to the car where it was parked in
the parking lot. The first thing he noticed was that the door was wide open. He
looked around desperately to see if anyone was around. Coming to a halt when he
looked down on the ground and saw an open CD case. It was smashed to pieces. His
heart began to pound. “Gia!!” He screamed as he looked around for her.
“GIA!!” Nik screamed louder. Having heard his yells Kristina came running
out. “Nikolas? What’s wrong?” She asked. Nik had tears in his eyes as he
looked up at his aunt. “She’s gone.” Nik said sadly.
An hour later Nik sat crying in a chair at the grill, he had just finished
telling Mac everything he knew for the fourth time. “Nikolas maybe we should
go home? Gia could show up.” Alexis said. “No, Stefan’s home and he would
call us if she went there. We need to look for her.” Nik said. The place was
empty now. The only people there were he and his aunts, along with several
police officers. Nik listened to Kristina give her statement for the fourth time
as well. “Mac that’s enough! We already told you all we know. Now go out
there and look for her, please!” Nik said desperately as he began to sob. He
felt Alexis’ arm on his shoulder and leaned into her touch. He felt her arms
wrap around him and hold on to him as he cried. “Nikolas, I know this is
difficult but I need to know. Is there anyone who would be after your fiancé?
It looks to me like there was a struggle and that usually means kidnapping. Do
you know anyone who would take her?” Mac asked. Nik’s head shot up.
“Zander!” He yelled as he jumped up. “That son of a bitch took her.” Nik
said angrily as he walked up to the door. “Nikolas wait, where are you
going?” Alexis asked as she started to fallow him. Nik put his hands up,
warning her not to come any closer. “I have to go find Zander!” He yelled as
he turned around and left.
Gia’s eyes slowly began to open, her sight was blurry at first, and she
blinked a few times. Slowly looking around she saw that she was in a small room.
She was lying in a bed and she could make out a small bathroom in the corner of
the room. Her mind slowly began to process things. “Where’s Nikolas?” She
mumbled as fear started to sink in. She tried to stand up when she realized that
she was tied to the bed. She suddenly remembered a hand covering her mouth and
struggling against someone’s hold, and then everything went black. “I’ve
been kidnapped.” Gia said in whisper. Tears began to fill her eyes. Nikolas,
that’s all she could think about, was Nikolas. She wondered how long she had
been here and if he knew she was missing yet. She looked up when the door
opened. Gia was shocked. “You! You did this to me?” Gia said. He smiled
devilishly over at her. His gray eyes piercing into hers. He walked closer to
her, getting in her face. “You're beautiful.” He said reaching out and
touching her cheek. “Get away from me!” Gia said jerking her head back. She
was shocked when he viciously pulled her face towards him. “Don’t hurt
me.” Gia whispered. “Oh that’s not part of the plan Gia.” He said
softly. “The plan?” She asked. He turned and walked out not saying another
word. Gia was panicking, tears streamed down her face and her chest began to
contract. She had no idea what this man was capable of.
Gia had fallen asleep from exhaustion but was awakened when the door opened
again. He looked so smug when he looked over at her. He stepped aside and
that’s when Gia realized he was not alone this time. It was dark, so Gia had
to squint to see. “Ah Gia, we finally meet.” The woman said. Gia could just
make out the beautiful and eloquently dressed woman before her. “Who are you,
and what do you have to do with him?” Gia asked looking over at the man in the
doorway. She looked him in the eyes, wanting an answer to her question. “This
here is my employee, Shane, I think you know him?” The woman said with a smug
smile. Gia was confused. “You see my dear, my grandson is arranged to marry
you, but the thing is, no one asked me if that was OK with me. Well its not, and
I will not let it happen.” The woman said, Confidence apparent in her voice.
“Helena.” Gia whispered.
