Uninvited CH 25

Gia awoke better then she had in days, she smiled as she remembered the night before, the night she shared with Nikolas. She removed her head from Nik’s shoulder and looked down at his sleeping face. She had promised him something last night, something that might be the hardest thing she’d ever have to do. She had to break her boyfriends heart. Her heart began to ache as she wondered if she had the courage to do what she had to do. She sighed and then brought her hand out to lightly comb her fingers through Nik’s soft black hair. She had to do this, for the man she loved.

Nik woke to the sound of water running, he grinned as he realized that Gia was taking a shower. He lifted his head so that he could see her. He watched her as she let the water run down her body. Her eyes were closed, oblivious to his admiring eyes. The sight of her curvy figure and the beautiful profile of her face as she looked down to her left, slightly towards him were absolutely breathtaking. God he loved this woman. He couldn’t believe that he actually felt sorry for her, for what she had to do today. She had to break her boyfriends heart. But he knew she could do it, for him.
Gia got dressed in a pair of hip-huger jeans and her favorite shirt, the pink one with princess on the front. She pulled half of her braids up in a ponytail and slipped her feet into her black flip-flops. She turned around to find Nik staring at her from his stop on the bed. She felt embarrassed by his staring at first but he smiled at her and it calmed her nerves.
Nik watched her get dressed in one of his favorite shirt of hers, the pink one that says princess on the front. He loved the way her tummy showed when she wore it with those jeans. He watched her fix her hair, envious of her fingers as they combed through her tiny braids and pulled half of them up on top of her head. He watched her slip her shoes on and finally turn to face him. He watched her blush and it brought an instant smile to his face. This seemed to calm her and she smiled back at him as walked up to the bed.

“Hey Sparky.” Nik said resting his head on his arm that was draped over his bent knee. “Hi.” She said softly as she leaned in and kissed his waiting lips. Gia started to pull away but Nik grabbed the back of her head and pulled her lips forward again, pushing his tongue into her mouth, tasting her tongue with his. He slowly released her. “Are you ready for today?” Nik asked as he lazily played with one of her braids. Gia slowly nodded her head. “I want to be with you Nikolas, I need to tell him.” Gia said. Nik broke into a bright smiled and pulled her in for a hug. “You can do this Sparky, I know you can.” Nik said in her ear as he held her.

Gia headed downstairs first, allowing Nik time to shower and get dressed. A long sigh escaped her mouth before she pushed the door to the kitchen open, fully expecting to see Zander behind the door. What she wasn’t expecting was to see the angry look on his face. Zander stopped the pacing he was doing and his intense gaze barreled straight into her. “I went to look for you last night.” Zander said as he began to walk towards her. “You did? Why, I said I was tiered.” Gia said. “Yeah well I wanted to make sure you were OK. You didn’t seem well last night, I thought something might be bothering you.” Zander said. Gia’s heart started to pound at the look on his face. She had a pretty good idea where this was going and she feared what would happen next. “Well I went to come see you and you weren’t in your room.” Zander said. He looked beyond angry now. Gia looked into his fury filled eyes. She felt a lump in her throat and felt her eyes sting with tears. Zander’s fists tightened and he stepped even closer so that he was now inches from her face. “So I went to Nik’s room and you know what I heard Gia?!” Zander spat. Gia shook her head meekly as tears were now rapidly falling down her face. “I heard Nikolas with someone, they sounded like they were having sex! And you know who she sounded like? You! My girlfriend!” Zander was screaming by now. All Gia could do was cry and stair at the floor. Zander roughly brought her face up to look at him, his hands clamped on both sides of her face. “Did you sleep with him?” Zander’s tone was lower but stern. Gia nodded her head as she sobbed. “Damnit Gia!!” Zander roared as her let go of her face and clamped on to her arms roughly. Gia struggled beneath his fierce grip. “Let me go Zander, you’re hurting me.” Gia cried as she continued to fight him. Zander shook her a couple of times before pushing her back up against the wall. “How could you do this to me? I loved you. How could you f#$* that guy?” Zander was screaming again, going slightly hoarse at the end of his statement. “It’s not like that Zander. I never thought I would get along with him when I came here. But I do and I love him.” Gia said desperately as she sobbed. “No Gia, you’re just a stupid slut!” Zander screamed as he raised his fist up to strike.

Nik showered and dressed, he had on a pair of loose fitted jeans and a black muscle T-shirt. He bent down to put on his black boots when he suddenly got a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach. He quickly put his shoes on and headed out the door. The first thing he heard when he headed downstairs were Gia’s sobs. He rushed to the door just in time to hear Zander screaming. “No Gia, you’re just a stupid slut!” He heard him yell. The words rang through Nik’s head. Rage filled him as he roughly pushed the door opened. Fear sunk in when he looked into the kitchen to find Zander hovering over Gia, his fist in the air as she was pinned up against the wall. In seconds Nik pushed Zander off of her and slammed his fist across Zander’s face. Gia screamed in shock as Zander went flying to the floor. “You stay the hell away from her!” Nik yelled as he pointed his finger fiercely in Zander’s direction. Zander looked up at Nik in shock. “You don’t know what you’re talking about Nikolas so stay out of this” Zander yelled. He looked over at Gia. “I don’t know what he’s done to you Gia but I won’t let him steal you away from me.” Zander said angrily at her. “Don’t speak to her either!” Nik warned. Zander yielded as he saw the slightly crazed look on Nik’s face. Zander weekly stood up and walked past both of them. “This isn’t over Gia.” Zander said as he walked past her. Nik ran after Zander and roughly grabbed him by the shirt; he dragged him until he reached the door. “Zander, I swear to god if you come anywhere near Gia again I will kill you.” Nik said, opening the door and then pushed him out. Nik glanced over at one of the castles guards and gestured that he take care of Zander. The guard nodded and went to work kicking him off of the property.

Nik walked back into the kitchen to find Gia in the exact spot she was in when he left her. She was looking down at the floor as tears silently fell from her eyes. Nik quickly walked up to her and immediately wrapped his arms around her. “Oh god Gia.” Nik cried as he held her.

Gia let out all her emotions as she clung to Nikolas. She sobbed uncontrollably into his chest. “Are you OK?” Nik asked as he pulled away slightly, desperately touching her face and hair. Gia nodded her tear-drenched face rapidly to let him know that she could hear him and that she was all right. “I was so scared.” Gia whispered.

Nik’s heart broke at the sound of Gia’s sad and scared voice. He had never seen her so vulnerable. He wanted to wrap her in his arms and make all her fears go away. “I’m here now Gia. I won’t let him hurt you, I promise.” Nik said as he ran his fingers through her braids. “I’ve never seen him like that Nikolas, it scared me.” Gia lost control again and began to cry harder. Nik quickly swooped her up in his arms and carried her over to the couch in the living room.

Gia felt so safe in Nik’s strong arms she leaned into him as he carried her to the couch. He sat her down gently and sat down beside her, he quickly pulled her on top of him so that he could hold her. They lay wrapped in each other’s arms as Gia quietly let all her tears out. When she was done, she closed her eyes and let the comfort he provided fill her body and relax it. Feeling his physical support underneath her and his emotional support in her heart. “I love you.” Gia said softly. “ I love you too Sparky.” Nik whispered and kissed the top of her head.
