Uninvited CH 2

Oh my god, what am I going to do? Gia thought. This is it! This is really happening. My life was not supposed to be like this. I have to marry him? I HAVE TO? I can’t believe it. And why would my parents wait until a month ago to tell me this? Life was so wonderful. I was young and in love, in love with a wonderful man. And when I tell them that I want to spend the rest of my life with him, they tell me this! This can’t be happening! Gia tolled herself. And now, today she was flying to meet him. Him. She hated him. Whoever he was. This is just not right! I will never love him! I love Zander and that will never change. Those were the thoughts that were running through her head.

“Gia?” “Gia are you listening to me?” Her mom said, jabbing her in the side. “Yes mother.” “You said that I would grow to love him.” “And that love is not always simple.” Gia said to a nodding Florence. “Well that is such a load of bull!” Gia said hotly. “Gia!” Florence scolded. “Don’t use that tone with me missy!” Flo said. “Or what mother? You’ll turn the plane around?” Gia scoffed. “Honestly Gia!” “I have no idea what to do with you!” Flo said, exasperated. “Yeah so you just send me off to live with a complete stranger.” Gia said, tears stinging her eyes. “Gia this is for your own good.” “You’ll have a wonderful life.” Flo said, touching her daughter’s arm. “But I just don’t see why I have to do this.” Gia said through her tears. “Why did you do this to me?” “You and dad bent to rules to be together.” Gia said. “Yes but Gia, I have never been excepted like you will be.” “You will be of full royal blood.” “Together you two can do great things, now you will marry this man and that is it!” Flo stated.

Gia couldn’t believe this. There was no way out of it. She couldn’t shake the feeling that this was the end. She would be trapped in a loveless marriage for the rest of her life. The nausea in her stomach would not subside for anything.

“Who has ever heard of a place called Port Charles?” Gia said, as the plane was nearing the landing. “What kind of prince lives in a place like this?” Gia complained, while they drove through town. The only thing interesting she saw was a funky looking club called Luke’s.

Seeing a few kids hanging out front of a place called Kelly’s. “Oh please don’t tell me that that is the local hang out!” Gia exclaimed, rolling her eyes. “Gia stop that!” Flo said. “I will not hear another one of your complaints!” Flo stated.

As they approached a launch on the docs, Gia almost lost it. There’s a mote (sp?) around the place? She thought. Her heartbeat quickened when their boat ride was over and they walked their way up to the huge, dreary looking castle.

“Gia please, will you not drag your feet like that!” Flo said in annoyance.

Gia had to admit that her mom was right. So she lifted her head walked quicker. She did not want to appear weak when she met this man.

When the door was opened Gia’s heart ripped. Was this him? She thought. He’s so old! She started to panic.

The man asked that they come in and Gia looked around the great huge castle. It looked straight out of a vampire movie. This was just great. She was going to be forced to live with an old man in this creepy place! Gia’s heart was pounding so hard she was sure everyone around her could hear it. Relief rushed over her when the man began to call out a name. Nikolas, he was saying. Is that his name? She thought. The man I’m going to spend the rest of my life with. By the man at the doors tone, it sounded pretty clear that Nikolas was as reluctant to meet her, as she was to meet him.

When the man who answered the door stepped aside, to reveal her soon to be husband, Gia felt her knees go weak. The man was incredibly attractive. He had a slightly dazed look on his face like he had just been hit over the head, but incredible non the less. When the older man urged him to step closer, Gia thought she would pass out at the sight of his well fit form moving toward her. She could tell he was just as stunned as she was. Think Gia! Think! She scolded herself. Smiling slightly, she extended her hand for him to shake. The warmth she felt as their skin touched socked Gia; his hands were so soft but yet strong. “Princess Gia Mashaka Campbell” she said smoothly but her heart flushed when he flashed her the most amazing smile she’d ever seen and then spoke. Oh my god that whole things his name? She thought. How am I ever going to remember that? She asked herself. Her eyes were locked with this stranger who intrigued her so, she had a hard time breaking the contact. Zander! She thought. You can’t forget about Zander, you love him! She tolled herself. When she became aware that they were the only two left in the room, she snapped herself out of their trance.

Immediately the cocky side of her that her mother loathed so much took hold of her. She just couldn’t help the remarks that came out of her mouth. “Let’s get one thing straight.” She said, her stance filled with attitude. “The only reason I’m doing this is because they (pointing to her parents in the other room) are making me.” “I do not and probably never will love you.” With that she gallantly walked away but was immediately sorry she said that due to the crushed look she saw in his eyes before she turned around. She felt sorry for him but she couldn’t back down now. Part of her wanted to just let go and let things happen but her heart belonged to Zander. So she went to go be with her parents, leaving a stunned Nikolas alone in his thoughts.
