Uninvited CH 15
Gia slowly opened her
eyes and a smile spread across her face. The sun was now shining and for the
first time since she’d gotten to Wyndemere she was excited to go downstairs.
She sat up in her bed, looked down at her nude body, vaguely remembering
removing her robe and slipping under the silk sheets of her bed last night. She
got up and strode over to the shower and turned it on. She stepped in when the
water temperature was to her liking, letting the water wash over her body. The
hot water slightly stung her wounds but the heat felt wonderful on her sore
muscles. She quickly got out of the shower and got dressed. She was wearing a
pair of black leather pant and a small black shirt. She rushed out of the room
and headed for the kitchen.
Nik had been up early and
had already showered, dressed and he was now reading the paper as he sat at the
table. He had been thinking about Gia nonstop since last night. He still felt
terrible that he had hurt her feelings. And he couldn’t help thinking about
how it would have been if Gia had gotten seriously hurt. He would never be able
to forgive himself if something had happened to her because he made her upset.
He was so happy to have a second chance with her. And he was grateful that Gia
told him last night that she was willing to start over again. So now, he was
anxiously waiting for her to come downstairs. Just as he was inwardly willing
her to appear in the doorway, she did. She took his breath away. How did she do
that every time? She was wearing a farley plain outfit but yet she looked
stunning in it. The red scrape on her cheek was already starting to heal. Her
hair was down again, just the way he liked it. He smiled when she entered the
room.
“Hey, did you sleep
well Princess?” He asked. Gia smiled at him in return. “Very well thank you,
I always sleep well in the nude.” Gia said flashing him an evil grin. Nik
gulped and looked away from her. It was all he could do to keep himself from
picturing her naked. Gia walked over to the bowl of fruit that was sitting on
the counter and decided on her new favorite, peaches. “Now Sparky, didn’t we
learn the first time?” Nik said eyeing the peach in her hand. “Well maybe if
you’re nice and ask first I’ll share it with you this time.” Gia said
sitting in the chair next to him. Nik looked over at Gia who was looking at him.
She smiled at him and he smiled back. He watched as she brought the peach to her
mouth and slowly bit into it. He couldn’t take his eyes off of her. After she
was done chewing, she held her hand out and brought the peach to his mouth.
“What do you say?” Gia asked. “Sparky, will you please share your peach
with me?” He asked. She nodded slowly, her heart warmed at the use of his
nickname for her. Nik smiled before taking a bite. She was so close he could
breathe in and inhaled the scent of coconut coming off of her body. When he was
done chewing he took it from her hands, bringing it to his nose and smelling its
sweet peach scent before holding it up. “Your turn.” He said holding it out
to her. Gia slowly brought her face towards the peach but Nik pulled his arm
back, bringing it closer to him. Gia cocked her head to the side and glared
slightly at his game. Nik flashed a crooked smile at her, bringing it under his
chin. He lifted his eyebrows, daring her to come closer. She challenged him and
brought her head closer, so close that he could see the glossy shine on her lips
from the peach. As she brought her head closer, his head automatically moved
closer to hers. He leaned in, his lips reacting to having hers so close, wanting
desperately to kiss that sweet juice off of them. Just as they were about to
kiss, Stefan walked in.
Damnit! Nik thought as he
looked up and see his uncle walking in. “Uncle, how are you this morning?”
Nik asked, annoyance clear in his tone. “I am well Nikolas, sorry for the
interruption. Good morning Gia.” Stefan said, turning to face her.
Oh thank god, Gia
thought. She didn’t think she could stop herself at just a kiss with Nikolas.
She smiled brightly at Stefan. “Good morning.” She said politely. “I need
to talk to you both about something.” Stefan announced. “What’s up?” Gia
asked. “Perhaps we could discuss it over breakfast?” Stefan suggested.
“Sure.” Nik and Gia simultaneously answered.
A short while later Nik
sat across from Gia, he was devouring her with his eyes more hungrily then he
was his food. She finally glared at him and he stopped staring. When they
finished their meals of eggs, bacon and orange juice, Stefan spoke. “I need to
go to Greece for a few days next week. I spoke to Gia’s parents and they said
it would be fine for me to leave you here for a few days.” Stefan said,
directing his gaze towards Gia.
This is perfect! Nik
thought as his uncle was speaking. It would be the perfect time to win Gia over,
with no distractions. He was so happy, but then he looked over at Gia and he
could tell that she was not as happy as he.
Gia sat across the table
from Nik as they ate their breakfast. He was staring at her as always. She was
starting to not mind it so much any more. Now that she had kissed him, Gia was
seeing Nikolas in a whole new light. Oh what a sexy man he is, she thought. His
hair, his eyes, his lips, his everything. She couldn’t stop looking at him.
Unfortunately every time she did, he would stare right back. Finally she put an
end to it and glared at him, he finally removed his gaze off of her face and
onto his food.
“I need to go to Greece
for a few days next. I spoke to Gia’s parents and they said it would be fine
for me to leave you here for a few days.” Gia heard Stefan say. Gia was in a
panic. She was not ready for this. To be left alone with Nikolas. It wasn’t
that she didn’t trust him; it was that she didn’t trust herself. She was
still in love with Zander and she couldn’t cheat on him. But with Nikolas
there, alone with her, she didn’t know if she could control herself. This
flirting and games they had been playing all morning was one thing, but she
wasn’t quite ready for anything more then that. But she looked over at
Nikolas, and he looked so excited. That should have scared her even more but it
didn’t. Then she remembered what she told him last night. That she was willing
to get to know him and start all over again, she had promised. This would be a
good opportunity to do that. She looked over at Stefan. “Well, if my parents
are fine with it then I don’t see a problem either.” Gia said. She looked
over at Nik’s relieved face and smiled at him. As she looked at him, she was
actually starting to look forward to spending time with him.
Nik looked over at Gia
and he could identify the exact moment that she gave in. He saw her initial look
of shock wear off, replaced by one of contemplation and finally of excitement.
He was relieved that she was taking it so well. He smiled as he looked at her.
This was going to be his chance to let her know how it feels to want him as much
as he wants her.
“Well, I leave in two
days and I should be back in about three days.” Stefan said. Nik and Gia
continued to just sit and stare at each other from across the table. Not really
hearing what Stefan was saying but both in their own world.
