Uninvited CH 12 part B
Dear Gia,
I know that your parents forbad me from contacting you but I told you that I
would find a way. I’m sending this letter to you from your aunt Jasmine’s
house. I know that she wanted us to be together and was upset when your parents
sent you away; she was gracious enough to let me send this to you from her
address. I want to let you know that I miss you like mad. School seems so
pointless without you here with me. I will find a way for us to be together Gia.
Soon I will come out there and rescue you from that monster your living with. I
know your parents don’t believe me that I am going to transfer to PCU but I
will. There’s nothing they can do to stop me from being with you. I dream
about you Gia, every night. And I think about you all the time, alone in a place
you don’t know and I cry for you, I ach for you. So when you’re alone in bed
and you feel sad, think of me. Think about the day when we’ll be together
again. That day will come soon Gia, I swear. Keep me in your heart.
Love always, Zander
Gia’s eyes rimmed with tears as she read Zander’s letter again. She suddenly
remembered that she was not the only one in the room, in the world. She quickly
wiped her tears away with her palms. She looked over at Nik who was staring at
her from the entryway. She felt a lump in her throat as she looked at him. He
knew whom it was from, she could tell. She saw the look in his eyes and cursed
herself for the aching she felt in her chest as she looked at him. She stood up
and walked over towards Nik. She looked around and didn’t see Stefan anywhere.
“Who is that from?” Nik asked, he knew it was none of his business but he
couldn’t help from asking. Gia shot her head up and stared at him. “It’s
none of your business Nikolas!” She yelled. Nik was expecting her to not tell
him whom it was from, but was shocked by her tone. “I was just wondering
Gia.” Nik said calmly. “Well, just stay out of my business, no stay out of
my life!!” Gia yelled. “Fine!!” Nik yelled back. Gia ran upstairs and
slammed the door to her room behind her. Nik walked into the kitchen and went to
grab himself a water. “Nikolas what’s going on here?” Stefan asked
entering the kitchen. Nik turned around and faced his uncle.
Gia stormed around her room after she slammed the door closed. She sat on the
bed and thought. She thought about everything that just happened. The kiss in
the car, the mean things she said to Nik. She was so mean to him. She started to
regret what she had said.
“Nikolas, what’s wrong with Gia?” Stefan asked. “Uncle, this is not
going to work. Me and Gia.” Nik said. “Nikolas, I know how you feel for her.
I can tell just by watching the two of you.” Stefan said. “She’s imposable
uncle! She’s a spoiled little brat and how anyone can get along with her is
beyond me! No one in his right mind would love someone as cold and heartless as
that spoiled little princess! Nik yelled, his arms flailing around. “Nikolas,
I know you better than anyone. You’re in love with that woman and you know
it.” Stefan said. Nik looked down and sighed. “I do uncle, I really believe
that underneath all that attitude lies a truly beautiful person that I long to
know. But she’s just not lightening up at all.” Nik said. “Love is hard
Nikolas, did you think it was easy?” Stefan asked. “No.” Nik said shaking
his head. “True love is worth fighting for Nikolas.” Stefan said. Nik
nodded. “I need to go for a drive, I’ll be back.” Nik said walking out of
the kitchen. His eyes wandered up stairs to Gia’s closed door briefly before
walking out the door.
Gia came downstairs in search for Nik, wanting to apologize for speaking to him
like she had. She didn’t know exactly what she was going to say to him but she
couldn’t leave things how they were. She walked through the study and headed
for the kitchen where she could hear voices coming from inside. When she neared
the conjoining door she could hear Nikolas talking loudly. She pressed her ear
to the door listened to what he was saying. “She’s imposable uncle! She’s
a spoiled little brat and how anyone can get along with her is beyond me!"
She heard him say. Gia just stood there; feeling like someone had just kicked
her in the stomach. She felt tears slowly run down her cheeks. “No one in his
right mind would love someone as cold and heartless as that spoiled little
princess!” She heard him yell. Gia couldn’t take it any longer. She covered
her ears as her chest heaved with pain. She turned around and saw the door
leading out to the back of the house and opened it.
The cold air immediately hit her body but
she pushed past the cold. She ran as fast as she could, searching for a place to
get away to. She ran far until she finally came across a bridge with a small
stream running under it and quickly ran across it. On the other side of the
stream was a small piece of land. She found a cluster of huge rocks and sat down
on a one of them. She sat down, her legs were tiered from the run and she was
breathing so heavily that she felt like her chest would explode. She sat down
and just sobbed into the air.
