Uninvited CH 12 part A
“Care to dance Sparky?” Nik asked Gia
when they walked back into Luke’s. Gia hesitated but gave in. “Sure.” She
said. They walked over to the small dance floor. A fast song was playing when
they walked up but as soon as they reached the dance floor, it changed to Alicia
Keys’ “A woman’s worth” Gia let Nik slowly pull her closer to him as
they swayed together. Nik’s eyes were glued to Gia’s face as they danced.
Gia kept her eyes down as they swayed to the music. “Well, now we know.” Gia
said. Nik looked up at her. “What?” He asked. “That you can’t dance.”
Gia said looking up at him. A sly smile spread across Nik’s face, a chuckle
escaped his lips. “You don’t know half of what I can do.” Nik said
bringing her even closer as he danced, he bent his head down and lightly rubbed
his lips up and down her neck. Gia’s eyes fluttered as the touch sent shivers
up her spine.
Just one dance, that can’t hurt right? Gia asked herself when Nik asked
her to dance. “Sure.” She said trying not to sound enthusiastic. Oh good
it’s a fast song, Gia thought. She cringed when the song switched to a
slow one just as they reached the dance area. She let herself be pulled in
closer to Nikolas, so that they were inches away from each other. She couldn’t
look in his eyes, if she did she would get lost and not find her way back. Think
of something to say before things go too far, Gia told herself. “Well now
we know.” She said. “What?” She heard Nik ask. “That you can’t
dance.” She dared. Her breath caught at the smile that crossed his face.
“You don’t know half of what I can do.” Nik said, Gia felt him pull her
body even closer to him. She closed her eyes when she felt his mouth on her
neck. She pulled back abruptly. “I can’t.” She whispered, shaking her
head. “I want to go home.” Gia said. “But Gia we just got here.” Nik
said. “I don’t care I want to go home, if you don’t take me I’m
walking.” Gia said angrily. “Fine.” Nik said. He walked over to Lucky and
told him he had to leave and that he would call him later. Lucky didn’t
understand why his brother had to leave but said he would talk to him later.
Why is she like this? Nik thought as they drove home in silence. He would
periodically glance over at Gia who was staring out the window. He was so
confused by her. The way she looked at him, he knew that she had feelings for
him.
“Gia why are you so upset?” Nik asked, breaking the silence. Gia was
startled by the sound of his voice in the quiet car. She looked over at him.
“I don’t want to talk about it.” She said looking the other way again.
“Well too bad because I do. Ever since you’ve got here, you have given me
nothing but attitude. I’ve been trying here but you haven’t” Nik said. Gia
continued to say nothing. Nik pulled the car over and stopped, he turned to look
at her. “Gia, I understand that you were never asked to marry me, your parents
are making you. But there’s no way out of this, we have to.” Nik said.
“I’ll never marry you, I hate you.” Gia said coldly. “Why are you lying
Gia?” Nik asked. “I’m not!” Gia stated. “I can see it in your eyes
Gia.” Nik said. “No Nikolas I don’t like you I ha..” Nik’s lips
crashing down on hers muffled Gia’s yell. Gia’s lips remained tightly closed
at first but Nik lightly teased her bottom lip with his teeth, lightly nipping.
He slid the tip of his tongue between her lips and she finally gave in, opening
her mouth to his tongue. Nik slowly pushed his tongue in deeper and soon they
were both locked in a heated kiss. Nik brought his hands up to the back of
Gia’s neck and he pulled her closer as he deepened the kiss even more. The
kiss was fast and desperate, they were both desperately searching the others
mouths as their tongues danced together. Their muffled breathes and Gia’s
light whimpers were the only sounds that could be heard throughout the car. Gia
pulled back abruptly and brought her fingers up to touch her swollen lips. “I
want to go home now.” Gia said. “Gia you can’t tell me that you didn’t
feel anything just now.” Nik said. Gia looked away from him. “I said I want
to go home now!!” Gia yelled.
Oh my god, what just happened? Gia asked herself. Her cheeks felt flushed
and her heart was still racing. She felt her body jolt forward as Nik’s Jag
sped out onto the street. She looked over at him and knew he was furious with
her. She was so confused. I love Zander, she thought. But then why do
I have such strong feelings for Nik? She silently asked herself. Gia looked
out and saw that they were nearing the launch to Wyndemere. She got out when the
car stopped and fallowed Nik onto the boat and they boarded, the cold windy air
hitting their body’s as they rode.
Nik was furious with Gia, he looked over at her pouting face and cursed himself
for noticing how cold she looked. He was so mad that he let her get to him like
she did. He was so frustrated with all her games that all he wanted to do was
hide in his room and to push all thoughts of Gia out of his head. He was
grateful that they were home. He knew that Stefan was there and needed to talk
to his uncle. He was seriously reconsidering his plan to win Gia over. In fact,
he really just wanted to put an end to this stupid arrangement and put them both
out of their misery.
Nik and Gia quietly entered the front door just in time to find Stefan coming
downstairs. “Hello you two. Did you have a good time? I wasn’t expecting you
back until late.” Stefan said. It was only 9:00 at night. Stefan looked over
at Gia and could tell something was wrong. “Are you all right?” He asked
her. Gia nodded her head, never looking up at him. “Oh something came for you
today.” Stefan said walking over to the desk in the entryway. Gia’s head
snapped up in shock. She hadn’t received any mail from anyone since she had
gotten to this god forsaken place. Her heart sped up as Stefan handed her an
envelope, Gia immediately knew who it was from. She couldn’t stop the smile
from spreading across her face. She stepped into the living room and sat down.
Lightly running her fingers over the writing on the front. She opened it up and
read.
