Uninvited CH 11

“We’re here.” Nik said as he stopped the car. He got out and walked around to open the door for her but she opened it and stepped out before he could get to her. She walked past him and opened the door and walked in. Gia looked around Luke’s and was not surprised to see the whole gang there. Liz was clinging to Lucky at a table close to the door. Emily was dancing with Shane. She looked around and saw the blond one Courtney, talking to a very attractive older man in the corner, who was sitting with a bunch of other attractive men in suits at a table. She looked closer at this man and finally it hit her. It was Sonny Corinthos. She ran over to him and stopped just at his table. “Sonny!” She exclaimed. Sonny looked up and briefly searched her face before getting a huge smile on his face. “Gia!” He yelled, jumping up and bringing her in for a hug. “God I haven’t seen you since you moved from Brooklyn! Man we were so young then!” Gia said. “Yes we were, I was only 19 when I moved here.” Sonny said.

Gia had met Sonny when she lived in Brooklyn, when she was a little girl and was fascinated by him. Her cousin Marcus would yell at her when he found out that she talked to him. Everyone stayed away from Sonny, especially her cousin who hated him. But she just couldn’t keep away from him. He was much older than she was but Gia didn’t have any friends growing up. The same attitude she had today, started when she was very little. The kids at school would often get into fights with her and she didn’t get along with them. So when she met Sonny and he was so nice to her, she was so happy to have him as a friend. He would let her hang out with him and his friends all the time. She became very attached and often thought of Sonny as her older brother. Sonny knew things about her childhood that no one else knew. Bad things. He also knew just how much Gia’s middle name really did fit her and would often get her out of a lot of trouble. When Sonny told Gia that he was going away, she was crushed. She was so mad at him and felt so abandoned by him that she told him that she hated him and that she would never talk to him again. But as he stood in front of her now, all she saw was her old friend.

Nik was shocked when all of the sodden Gia ran off at top speed. He watched as she stopped right in front of Sonny Corinthos’ table. What the hell is she doing? He thought. He watched on and was stunned when Sonny got up and embraced her in a hug. A smile spread across both their faces. Jealousy stuck him like a bolt of lightning as he saw the interaction between them. His heart sunk as he watched Gia’s truly happy face. He had never seen that before. She looked beautiful. “What’s up with that man?” Lucky asked as he put his hand on his brother’s shoulder and nodded his head towards Gia and Sonny.

“Oh god look at you princess, you’re gorgeous!” Sonny said when he pulled away from his friend. Sonny was one of the only people who knew that Gia was a princess growing up. He would always call her that. “You’ve changed so much from the scrawny little girl with constantly scraped knees I use to know.” Sonny joked. Gia laughed and hit him playfully on the arm. “Yeah and I see you’re sexual preference have changed from the playboy I use to know.” Gia said, gesturing to the men at Sonny’s table. Sonny erupted with laughter. “Same old Gia I use to know.” Sonny said. “Or maybe not.” Gia said looking at Courtney. Sonny laughed. “No this is my sister Courtney.” Sonny said. “Your sister?” Gia exclaimed. “Yeah it seems as thought Mike had some secrets he kept from me.” Sonny said. Gia knew that Sonny’s father left him and his mother when he was little so it was highly possible for Mike to have a whole other life no one knew about. “She’s about your age.” Sonny said. “Yeah we’ve met.” Gia said. “You have?” Sonny asked. Gia nodded. She looked over and saw Nikolas and Lucky looking at them. When she made eye contact with Nik, she saw him start to walk closer to her. He walked up to them and stood next to Gia. “Sonny how are you?” Nik asked extending his hand out for him so shake. Sonny was taken back by Nik’s actions; they knew each other but were far from friends. “I see you’ve met my fiancé'?” Nik said. “Do you two know each other?” Nik asked. “Yes, we grew up together in Brooklyn.” Sonny said nodding. Sonny was shocked, he knew something weird was going on here but decided to wait and talk to Gia about it later. He saw how possessive Nik seemed to be over Gia and thought that if he asked him what was going on, it would cause problems. “Well I see we have a lot of catching up to do.” Sonny said looking at Gia. “Yes lot’s.” Gia said quickly glancing at Nik. She was confused by his actions. Why did he call me his fiancé? Gia thought. That ticked her off and she was going to let him know this as soon as they were alone. “Well here, let me give you my card and you can call me so we can get together sometime.” Sonny said, handing Gia his business card. “Thanks I’ll be sure to call.” Gia said. She leaned over and gave Sonny a kiss on the cheek, briefly looking at Nik’s furious face before turning and heading over to Lucky and Liz.

“Hey Lucky what’s up?” Gia asked walking up to him. “Not much what's up with you? Do you know Sonny?” Lucky asked. “Yeah he’s an old friend from Brooklyn.” Gia said. “Really?” Lucky asked. “Yeah we were really close until he moved here.” Gia said. “It must be nice to see someone you know here.” Lucky said. “Yeah it was.” Gia said. “Elizabeth you look…nice.” Gia said looking over at Liz who had been glaring at her the moment she walked up and started talking to Lucky. “Thanks.” Liz said shortly. “Gia, can I talk to you for a second?” Nik asked when he walked up to her. Gia nodded and excused herself to Lucky and fallowed Nik to outside.

“Gi” Nik started but Gia cut him off. “Listen here prince, I don’t know what you think but I do not belong to you! And you had no right to act like you own me to my friend!” Gia said angrily. “As far as I’m concerned, I am not your fiancé. I am a woman who is being FORCED to marry you!” Gia yelled. That’s when Nik lost his cool a little. “Listen princess, you are not the only one being forced to marry someone here. I am too but unlike you I have accepted those facts. My uncle and I are supposed to be watching out for you and Sonny Corinthos is not someone I think you should be hanging out with!” Nik yelled back. “You can’t stop me from talking to him. He’s a friend and I’m an adult who can talk to whoever I want.” Gia said. “I know that Gia I just want to keep you safe.” Nik said. Gia looked at him and knew he was sincere. “I don’t need anyone to take care of me, I’m a big girl and I can take care of myself.” Gia said. Nik nodded his head and looked down. “Now can we go back in there?” Gia asked. “As you wish sparky.” Nik said. They turned around and walked back in to Luke’s.
