Star Crossed Lovers CH 37

~Wyndemere~

Nik immediately felt the tension in the room; he looked back and forth between the two men sitting before him. He felt an argument coming so he sighed and made his way into the room. After a long silence, Stovros spoke to his son.

“Nikolas, we know that you are a very responsible young man, that’s why we are able to run our business and not have to worry about you getting into trouble.” Stovros said. Nik nodded his head.

“Well the thing is, we were paid a visit from Sonny Corinthos last night. He seems to think that you are some sort of threat to his cousin Gia.” Stovros said.

“I am no threat to Gia.” Nik said. His father’s eyes widened.

“I wasn’t even aware that you associate with her my son.” Stovros said.

“I practically don’t associate with her, I barely know her. You see I met her at a party a while back. She was in a bit of a situation and I helped her, I didn’t even know who she was.” Nik said.

“So why are you still talking to her?” Stefan asked.

“She was hurt when I saw her uncle, I wanted to make sure she was all right.” Nik said. Stefan nodded his head. But Stovros was doubtful of his son.

“Nikolas, you know how we feel about that family, and them us. You cannot communicate with her any more. Do you understand me?” Stovros asked. Nik’s heart felt like it was ripping in two. He loved Gia more than anything. He had to find a way for them to be together. He nodded his head at his father and uncle.

“OK, I’ll stay away from her. I don’t really like her anyway. She’s just an acquaintance.” Nik said, it was killing him to say, each word felt like a knife stabbing into him.

“Well she needs to stay that way, just an acquaintance.” Stefan said.

“Yes uncle.” Nik said as he turned and walked out of the room. Tears were streaming down his face; he wanted more than anything to be with Gia. But he was scared of what his family would do to him, or her if they found out about their marriage.

Gia and Courtney stood frozen, not able to get a word in as they were bombarded with questions. Flo had enough of their silence.

“Gia you are going to tell me where you’ve been right this minute!” She said walking up to her. Gia stood tall.

“I don’t need your permission to go somewhere mother. I’m and adult and I can do whatever I want.” Gia said strongly, as her arms crossed in front of her chest. She recoiled when Sonny stepped up to her.

“Gia, now!” He shouted.

“We went to the lake.” Gia said quietly.

“We, who’s we?” Sonny asked.

“Courtney and I and…Lucky.” Gia said.

“So you went to the lake with Lucky Spencer? Well why didn’t you tell me or anyone else were going?” Sonny asked.

“First off, I don’t need to tell you before I go somewhere and I went with Lucky, because I like him.” Gia said.

“Gia, you know how I feel about that kid but I don’t have a problem with you dating him. But why did you lie to me about it?” Sonny asked.

“I wasn’t lying to you, I don’t need to tell you everything that’s going on with my life Sonny.” Gia said, her voice rising.

“Who is this guy? I don’t like the idea of you going out with someone I haven’t met.” Flo said.

“He’s as good as a Cassadine aunt Florence, he’s Nikolas’ half brother.” Juan spoke up. Gia heard her mother gasp.

“Gia?!” Flo said in shock.

“Mother, he is not a Cassadine, he’s a Spencer and he doesn’t even get along with Nikolas.” Gia said. Sonny eyed her as she mentioned Nikolas. Gia could feel his stares but remained calm. Gia looked over at Marcus who was sitting on the couch.

“Why are you here?” She asked coldly.

“Gia, you’re my sister, I care about you. Mom called and said you were missing and I came to see if I could help.” Taggert said.

“I was not missing! I’m a grown woman who can do whatever I want! Besides, you have not right to be here Marcus, you gave up that right when you left me.” Gia said, tears in her eyes as the pain still hurt her.

“I’m sorry I left Gia.” Marcus whispered as he reached out to touch her. Gia pulled away.

“No! Your not sorry!” Gia yelled.

“Gia!” Flo scolded. Gia looked around, furious at her family.

“You people have no say in who I associate with!” Gia yelled, thinking of Nikolas. She didn’t have the guts to say his name to her family.

“If I want to see Lucky Spencer I will and you can’t do anything about it. Stay out of my life, all of you!” Gia yelled as she ran upstairs.

Gia ran into her room and dropped down on the bed, she cried harder than she had in years. She wiped her eyes and pulled the chain out from underneath her shirt and kissed the rings that were hanging from it.

“I love you Nikolas, I’ll do anything it takes to be with you.” She whispered as she laid her tearstained face on her pillow.

Downstairs Sonny walked over to his younger brother, something was up with Gia and he needed to find out what it was.

“Watch her and Lucky carefully, let me know if you sense anything funny going on.” Sonny said. Juan nodded his head; he was thinking the same thing.
