Star Crossed Lovers CH 20
“Nikolas I’m sorry to wake you but I
wanted to let you know that I’m home now.” Stovros said stepping into the
room.
“That’s OK father, welcome home.” Nik said. Sitting up and rubbing his
eyes.
“Would you look at this place?” Stovros said looking around Nik’s room
stating the clothes that were thrown around.
“Sorry father I was really tired last night and I just needed to get to bed,
I’ll pick them up as soon as I get dressed.” Nik said.
Nik’s throat tightened when he leaned back on his bed and his hand landed on
what could only be Gia’s bra. He slowly pushed his hand back until it fell to
the floor behind his bed. He watched his father who was looking out his window
and didn’t think he noticed.
“Nikolas, your uncle told me about your feelings for the Webber girl.”
Stovros said.
Nik winched, quickly glancing at his closet door.
“Father, we were talking about how I thought I was in love with her but
realized that I’m not.” Nik said.
“Yes, and I know that has to be hard.” Stovros said. Nik just shrugged.
His father was making him more than just a little nervous. He would not stay
still. He kept walking around, he stopped right in front of Nik’s closet and
Nik’s heart was racing. He watched as his father quickly glanced at his closet
door and then turned to face him.
“Stefan also told me that you were asking questions about the Corinthos
family?” Stovros said. Nikolas could feel his head go light as he slowly
nodded his head. He was sure that Gia could hear everything his uncle was
saying.
“Nikolas you need to stay away from that wretched family. They are trash and
they are so beneath you. You do not need to be concerned about them. But please
stay away from them, especially Sonny. That man is a nut, do you hear me?”
Stovros said.
Nik closed his eyes quickly before opening them and nodding his head.
“Yes father.” Nik said quietly.
“I need to go meet with Stefan, I’ll be back later this afternoon.”
Stovros said walking towards the door.
“I’m serious about that family Nikolas, stay away from them. I don’t trust
any of those fools.” Stovros said and shut the door.
As soon as the door shut Nik jumped out of bed and ran over to the closet. It
swung open and Gia came out. Dressed in everything but her bra. Tears streaked
her face and she wouldn’t look at him. She quickly went to move past him but
he grabbed her arm to stop her.
“Gia I am so sorry.” Nik said lightly rubbing her cheek with his knuckles.
Gia looked down and slowly shook her head no. She pulled away from him.
“Stay away from me Nikolas. You heard him, I’m trash.” Gia spit.
“Gia no.” Nik said bringing her into his arms, and held on as she struggled.
“I don’t think that, I swear!” Nik said in her ear.
“Why don’t you go be with sweet Lizzy Webber like you want to be, I’m sure
your family doesn’t think she’s trash! God I was so stupid to think that you
were telling me the truth. You just wanted to get me into bed!” Gia shrieked
as she continued to struggle with Nik.
“Gia don’t say that.” Nik said with emotion in his voice.
“Last night was the most magical night in my whole life. I love you Gia.”
Nik said kissing the side of her face.
“Please, you have to believe that.” Nik said, tears dripping down his face.
He felt Gia’s body slowly loosen up.
“Your father killed my dad and he has the gull to talk about us like that?”
Gia said through her sobs.
“Gia I just found out what my father did last night, just before I came up
here. What he did was sick, I’m so sorry for you and your family.”
“You didn’t know?” Gia asked.
“No, my uncle just told me.” Nik said.
“That’s why you looked so upset when you came in?” Gia asked. She felt Nik
nod his head.
“This is a lot to take in Nikolas.” Gia said.
“I know.” Nik said.
“I have to go.” Gia said turning to face him.
“Will I ever see you again?” Nik asked tears forming again as he caressed
her face in his hands.
Gia took a deep breath before looking into his eyes. “We’ll figure out a way
to be together Nikolas, I promise.” Gia said with tears in her eyes.
They came together for one last passionate kiss; nether wanting to stop but Gia
finally broke it.
“I have to go, I’ll keep in touch.” She said.
Nik checked to make sure that no one was home and walked Gia to the launch, he
hugged her quickly before she boarded. He watched her go, wondering how on earth
they were going to be together.
