Star
Crossed Lovers CH 16
~~Stefan’s
office~~
“What
would you want to know about that family?” Stefan questioned.
“I
just want to know why that family hates us so much.” “And please don’t say
because they’re envois of us like you always do.” Nik said.
~~Meanwhile
on the doc’s~~
Gia
decided to wait until it was dark to go to Wyndemere. She looked down at herself
and felt like a fool. She could kill Courtney right now. She talked her into
wearing this outfit. She had on a pair of black and white camouflage pants that
hung loose on her. She wore it with a tight black tank top and felt comfortable
in it, on this warm summer night. She had combat boots on her feet and her hair
was pulled up into a high ponytail. She was sure she looked like a complete
idiot but Courtney was concerned that she was going to get caught and she wanted
her to blend into the bushes if she had to hide. It seemed logical at the time
but now as thoughts of Nikolas ran through her head, she was dreading him seeing
her like this. She sighed and headed for the launch to Wyndemere.
~~Stefan’s
office~~
“Nikolas
I think you are old enough to know the truth about our dealings with that
family.” Nik nodded for his uncle to continue.
“Years
ago your father and I started working with Gary Corinthos.” “He was the
local mob boss at the time.” “We needed him to try and catch your
grandmother in the act of embezzling money from the Cassadine accounts.”
“Your father had a, lets just say untraditional way of running the business
back then.” “Your father is a very powerful man, if one was to cross him,
there’s no stopping him.” Stefan said.
~~Spoon
Island launch~~
Gia
looked around to make sure there was no one around the launch and when she
didn’t see anyone, she jumped into the boat. She was so grateful that Sonny
had taught her how to drive a boat. That was the one of the only things that
Sonny and her uncle Mike had in common, was there love of boats. She grew up
around them and when she was old enough, they both taught her how to use one.
She stared the boat and steered it straight toward the island.
~~Stefan’s
office~~
“It
came to our attention that Gary had been feeding Helena information and in fact
had turned on us.” Stefan said. “When Stavros found this out he was
furious.” “He invited him here to discuss his concerns and he and Gary
argued about it.” “Stavros and Gary got into an argument and in the end,
your father won.” Stefan said.
Nik
started to get a sinking feeling in his stomach. “So what are you saying
uncle?”
“Your
father murdered Gary Corthinos.” Stefan stated.
~~Wyndemere
gates~~
Gia
arrived at gates surrounding Wyndemere and easily climbed them. It was a gift
she acquired at a young age, growing up on the streets of Brooklyn. When her
feet firmly landed on the ground she turned around to checkout her surroundings.
She was almost positive that if she went around to her right, it would lead her
to the balcony of Nik’s room. She crouched low and slowly crept behind the row
of bushed on the right. A smile crept across her face as the mission imposable
song popped into her head. She laughed and straightened up and decided to just
jog the rest of the way to the back of the house.
~~Stefan’s
office~~
Nik
was in shock, his body went cold in the warm room. Was he hearing right. He
couldn’t believe his father would kill someone. He jumped up with a start.
“You
mean to tell me that this man was killed in this very office by my father?”
Nik exclaimed. His body heaved when he looked at his uncle’s face and knew the
answer was yes.
~~The
balcony~~
Gia
reached the vines covering the balcony and began to climb up them. “S***!”
She hissed when a thorn cut her finger. She grabbed onto the balcony rail and
pulled herself up. Hopping down on the cement floor. She reached for the
doorknob and sighed with relief when she found that it was unlocked. She slowly
opened the French doors and stepped in.
~~Stefan’s
office~~
“Nikolas
are you aright?” Stefan asked. Nik slowly nodded his head. “Yeah I just
really need to sleep.” He said. “Goodnight uncle, I’ll see you in the
morning.” He said and left the office. He ran upstairs in shock; his heart was
pounding with fear. He opened the door to his bedroom, stepped inside and turned
the light on. He turned around and stopped dead, there standing in his room, was
Gia with a shy smile spread across her face as she looked up at him.
