SCL CH 43

Gia sat on her couch with her arms wrapped around herself. Her whole family was at her cottage now. Her mother was an emotional wreck, after Sonny’s mother Adela died; her mother took Juan in like he was a son. She loved him like she loved her own children, and the news of his death was hard on her. Gia looked up at her cousin, he was devastated over the lose of his brother. She could see it in his eyes that he felt guilty for never expressing his love to Juan. He knew that Sonny would be out for vengeance, she thought about Nikolas. Could he really kill her cousin? Every ounce of her being wanted to believe that he didn’t, but she believed Marcus, he said that Nikolas killed Juan. Fresh tears began to fall from her eyes, tears she thought were impossible to shed after crying so much over the loss of Juan.

“Gia, are you OK?” Flo asked as she bent down to look at her daughter.

“Oh I’m great mother, my cousin just died but I’m just peachy!” Gia said angrily. She saw the hurt in her mother’s eyes.

“I’m sorry, I have to get some air.” Gia mumbled as she stood up and walked out the door.

Gia leaned over the railing on her porch; her tears would not subside for anything. She gasped when she felt someone touch her arm.

“Sparky.” He whispered. Gia sighed when she turned and her eyes landed on Lucky. She looked back through the window of her house and everyone looked distracted. She walked down the steps and walked around to the side of the house, Lucky fallowing her lead.

“Gia, I’m sorry about your cousin.” Lucky said.

“No your not, you hated him and so did your brother.” Gia said turning away from him.

“Whoa, what are you saying Gia?” Lucky asked, taken back by the harshness in her voice.

“Look Nikolas is obviously not the man I thought he was. My brother told me that he did it and I believe him. I don’t want to but I do.” Gia said sadly.

“No, you think he killed Juan?” Lucky asked in shock.

“Lucky you know what are families are like, they hated each other.” Gia said. Lucky put his hands on her arms.

“Gia, you need to go see him. You can’t turn your back on him without hearing what he has to say.” Lucky said. Gia slowly nodded her head.

“OK, I’ll figure out a way. We’ll be in touch.” Lucky said as he walked away. Gia leaned against the tree she was standing by, sobbing into the air. She didn’t know what to think any more.
