SCL CH 12

Nikolas walked into Kelly’s, dieing for a cup of coffee. Barley awake he knew he had to get a cup into him, the night before had been miserable. He warily headed for the counter and an took a deep breath, Liz was behind it and Nik was sure he would be bombarded by questions about last night, so he braced himself.

“Oh my god Nikolas you look awful what happened?” Liz asked.

“Thanks!” Nik said scrunching up his face.

“I think I had a little to much to drink last night.” Nik lied.

“You did? It didn’t seem like it to me.” Liz said concerned.

“Well, yeah I don’t hold alcohol very well.” Nik said with a shy smile.

Liz blushed at him. She’d liked him for a long time but was always waiting for him to make the first move. She was so sure that he was going to last night but he disappeared on her.

“So, yeah I feel awful, do you think I could get some coffee?” Nik asked sweetly.

“Sure!” Liz said, brightly.

Nik went to sit in a booth in the corner of Kelly’s and tried to figure out what he wanted to eat.

“G, you can not tell me that you have never been to Kelly’s before.” Courtney said when they walked in.

“Look Sonny never let me go to this place, and I never wanted to, but you insisted.”

“Why would Sonny not want you to come here?” Courtney asked.

“You know, he was afraid that I’d run into a Cassadine.” Gia said, sitting down.

Nik looked up when he heard his name being used and his breath caught, his angel from last night was sitting right there at table at Kelly’s. He hid behind his menu. He wondered why she had mentioned his name and just had to hear her speak. He tilted his head so he could hear better, being sure to hide his face, he was sure he looked like an idiot but he just had to listen.

“You know I met his brother last night?” Courtney said.

“Who’s?” Gia asked

“Nikolas Cassadine’s” Courtney said.

Gia’s heart skipped a beat at the mention of Nik’s name; she had to tell someone about him. And Courtney was becoming a good friend to her.

“Courtney can I tell you something?” Gia asked.

“Yeah what?”

Nik was leaning in as far as he could to hear Gia speak. He had to catch his menu that almost fell, brining it back up to his face. Just the sound of her voice excited him so much. He could listen to her talk forever. And the fact that she was talking about last night was driving him nuts to find out what she had to say.

“I, I, Think..” Gia lowered her voice to a whisper.

“I think I might be in love.” Gia said.

“With Josh?” Courtney asked in shock.

Gia’s whole body jolted with disgust when Courtney said his name and nearly screamed.

“No!” Gia said with disgust.

“Well then who?” Courtney asked.

“YOU!!!”

Gia nearly jumped out of her skin and looked up to see the pale girl from the party standing over them.
