Pushed Away CH 22

“These are beautiful Gia!” Lucky said. He and Gia were at the park looking at the pictures Gia had taken the other day. “Look at this one of the little girl on the swings.” Lucky said. “Wow, your right it is pretty good.” Gia said. “Pretty good? Gia they’re beautiful.” Lucky said. “Thank you Lucky.” Gia said smiling. She looked over at the pictures that where spread out on the picnic table in front of her. She couldn’t help but feel proud of herself. Out of nowhere, she got a feeling in her body. Like Nikolas was there. When she looked over, her instincts were right because he was walking along the sidewalk of the park. He looked up just in time to lock eyes with her.

Nik decided to walk in the park. Something he only started doing recently. The first time he had come to a public park was when Gia was blackmailing Emily and he had to convince her to help them. He knew even then that Gia was not just going to help them, but she would be a part of his life. He had no idea how big of a part that would be then, but she changed his life forever. He smiled thinking about that day in the park; she was watching those kids whose parents she worked for. When he approached her, she was so hostile with him. Even then she turned him on. He wouldn’t admit that to any of his friends but Gia was what he needed. Someone to open up his heart and give him that change his life needed. While he was walking, all of the sudden he got a feeling. Like she was right here with him. As he looked up he caught site of her, their eyes met. His heart was pounding. She was dressed casual, in blue jeans and a white baby-t. Her braids were down and she was wearing light makeup. She looked absolutely beautiful. His heart wouldn’t let him walk away so instead, he walked closer to her.

“H..hi Nikolas.” Gia stuttered as he approached. “Hey Sparky.” Nik said flashing her a breathtaking smile. Gia sucked in a breath and her eyes rimmed with tears at the use of her nickname that only he used. She returned his smile, sending a jolt of warmth through Nik’s body. “How are you?” Gia asked. “I’m doing better. Now.” Nik added. Gia smiled at him again. Nik finally acknowledged his brother who was standing there too. They were polite but strained. That’s when Nik saw what they were doing and looked over at the pictures on the table. “Oh Lucky, those are amazing.” Nik said, gesturing to the pictures. “Well, actually Gia took them.” Lucky said. Nik looked over at Gia who was shyly smiling at him. “You took these?” Nik asked. Gia nodded her head yes. “Gia, I had no idea that you liked photography.” Nik said. “Well nether did I until I took those.” Gia said. “Well you have a gift, you should pursue it.” Nik said. “I think I’m going to.” Gia said. “That’s great Gia I’m happy for you.” Nik said. “Can we talk?” Nik asked, looking over at Lucky briefly and than back at Gia. Gia caught this and got the hint. “Hey Lucky do you think that we can meet up at Luke’s later?” Gia asked. “Sure Gia, I’ll take the pictures with me and we can look at them there.” Lucky said. He went over and gathered up all the pictures and then walking over to Gia, giving her a kiss on the cheek before leaving. It sent a sting of pain to Nik’s heart to see. The brothers exchanged a brief goodbye and then Nik turned to Gia and suggested that they sit on the swings.

They just sat and swung on the swings in silent for a while, just enjoying the feel of being together. Nik looked over at Gia, her head was tilted down as she was looking at ground, and her long braids were cascading down her left shoulder. He had the perfect profile of her face in his line of vision from where he was sitting. He brought his hand out and watched as her eyes fluttered at the feel of his touch as he gently guided her gaze to his face. “Hi.” He said in a light whisper. “Hi.” She replied lightly, a small smile curling at the sides of her lips.

They continued to swing in silence for a while and Nik finally spoke. “So, how is the pregnancy going?” He asked. Gia looked over at him and he swore he detected a hint of sadness in her eyes, his heart pounded at the cause of that sadness. “It’s going good, I’m starting to not be sick all the time, I’m feeling a lot better. I have an appointment for the first ultrasound next week if you want to come?” Gia asked looking at him. Nik looked in her eyes and they lightly rimmed with tears. “Oh Gia I would love to come. Let me know the date and time and I’ll be there.” Nik said. “I’ll write it down for you.” Gia said. “So how are you doing?” Gia asked. “Good, I had my first appointment with a psychiatrist that my uncle set up for me today.” Nik said. “Stefan? Is he home?” Gia asked. “Oh yeah I called him and asked him to come for a visit. He’s going to help me get through this Gia.” Nik said. “That’s great, I’m so glad your working through your problems.” Gia said. “Yeah I am, and I really like my Dr. too. His name is Andrew and he’s not much older then me. He has a wife and two kids. Oh Gia you should see these kids. They’re so beautiful. Olivia, the little girl is so adorable. I want you to meet them sometime.” Nik said. “It sounds like you’ve made some new friends.” Gia said. Nik nodded. “Yeah, I think I have.” Nik said.

They were silent again. “I miss you.” Nik said out of nowhere. Gia looked him in the eyes. “I miss you too.” She said bringing her hand up to his face and lightly caressing it. They both had tears streaming down their faces and Nik too brought his hand up to touch her face, lightly wiping her tears away with his thumbs. Nik slowly brought Gia’s face in closer and his lips touched hers. He stayed like that for a while, just feeling her soft lips with his. He slowly brought his tongue out and pushed it between her lips. Gia’s mouth opened and her tongue met his. The kiss was slow at first as their mouths were reacquainted, but then it became needy and fast, as they desperately drank each other’s sweet taste. Their hands were desperately roaming each other’s bodies as they kissed. Gia finally pulled away. “We can’t Nikolas.” Gia said threw her tears. Nik rested his forehead on Gia’s and he slowly nodded his head. “Soon baby, I will be with you.” Nik said. He reached his hand down and lightly rubbed Gia’s stomach. “I’ll be with the both of you soon. I swear.” Nik said. I love you.” He said in a whisper. “I love you too Nikolas, always.” Gia said. Nik reluctantly got up and went over to Gia, kissing her lightly on the forehead before walking away, leaving Gia in tears on her swing.
