Pushed Away CH 21
Hi all, there is a dream sequence in here
that is pretty intense. It might be disturbing for some so I wanted to warn you.
I really have no idea where it came from either but I hope you all have a little
bit more of an understanding for Nik’s behavior after this. Please let me know
what you think. ~~Angie~~
Nik’s eyes pierced into a pair completely opposite of his own, unlike Nik’s
dark brown pools. These eyes were clear blue. He searched these eyes. Hid he
trust them? He had to answer the question sooner or later, he opted for later.
How did I get here? Nik asked himself. He looked around the small office. He had
never been in an office quit like this one. It wasn’t so much an office, it
was more of a din. There were two couches, one facing the other. One of which he
was sitting on. The other was occupied as well. Its colorful décor was
pleasant. There was a T.V. set in an entertainment center in one corner and a
lamp in the other. And oddly enough, there were children’s toys in various
places in the room. He noticed the table to the left of him, covered with framed
pictures. Most were of children, the same two. Nik had never seen anyone as
happy as the people in these pictures.
“How long have you been having the dream?” The question was repeated. Nik
brought his attention back to the man sitting across from him. Andrew Core was
the man’s name. He was young, maybe only about three years older than himself.
He had sandy blond hair and crystal blue eyes. He had a pleasant presents in the
room. But was he trusting? Nik had only been in the room for about 30 minutes
and he was already asked a difficult question to answer. At first they were all
trivial questions. But it was only natural that if Nik told him that he had been
having bad dreams for about five months that he would be asked what they were
about in return. “You have a beautiful family.” Nik said dodging the
question. He looked back over at the pictures on the table. The two children
were smiling in every one. One boy and one girl. The little girl looked to be
about three years old and the boy didn’t look quit one yet. Unlike their
father, the kids had dark curly hair but they had their fathers same clear blue
eyes, they were quit possibly the most beautiful children Nik had ever seen.
“Thank you.” Andrew said smiling. Nik looked at him and knew that the
question was not forgotten and still awaited an answer. “It’s always the
same.” Nik said.
~~Dream description~~
“Gia are you here?” Nik began to walk around the empty house. He walked up
the steps in search for Gia. He could hear her muffled yells coming from the top
of the stairs. She was calling for help. Nik’s body was moving in slow motion.
He couldn’t get his feet to gain speed. Gia’s cries became more desperate.
“Nikolas..” He heard her say in a haunting tone. “I’m coming Gia!” He
finally reached the door to find not Gia, but his mother lying in his bed with a
man on top of her. He stood in horror as his mother looked up at him with tears
in her eyes. “Help me Nikolas.” She begged. As Nik walked closer, the man
pinning his mother down, looked over at Nikolas. His eyes were much like his
own. Nik’s chest heaved as he realized he was looking into the eyes of his
father. Stovros looked him in the eyes and a pure evil grin spread across his
face, he then looked down at Laura and crushed his lips violently down on her
mouth. Nik walked over to his father but when he sat up again and looked at him,
his eyes had changed. When he looked into them, they had changed into his own
eyes. He was now looking at his own face. It was like there was two of him, as
if he was having an out of body experience. He looked down on the bed and it was
no longer Laura lying there, but it was Gia. She looked up at him with fear in
her eyes. “Why are you doing this to me Nikolas? Let me go!” She struggled
against him. Nikolas stood in horror as he watched himself start to rip Gia’s
clothing off of her. Tears streamed down face as he stood there, not able to
move. “Nikolas please stop!” Gia begged, tears streaking her face. “No
Gia, you belong to me and you will do what I tell you to do!” Nik saw the
words coming out of his mouth but it was not his voice he heard, it was his
fathers. “No please, NO!! Gia screamed. It would always end there, with the
sound of Gia’s gut wrenching screams.

“And then I wake up.” Nik said with tears running freely down his face.
“Nikolas have you told Gia about these dreams?” Drew asked. Nik looked the
man in the eyes. “How could I? They’re sick!” Nik said as the tears
continued to fall. The room was silent for a while. “Nikolas, these dreams can
mean a lot of different things. I’m willing to help you figure out what
exactly those things are.” Drew said. Nik nodded his head. “Thank you.”
Nik said quietly. “OK, I think we’ve done enough today. Why don’t we
schedule another appointment? I would like to meet with you two days a week, is
that OK?” Drew asked. “Whatever it takes to get Gia back, I’ll do it.”
Nik said. Andrew looked at him for a few seconds. “Nikolas this has to be for
you too, not just Gia.” Drew said. Nik nodded. “Yeah, I know it is. I really
need this.” Nik said. The two men shook hands. “Let me show you out.” Drew
said. He ushered Nik out the door of the room. Nik stopped to find the little
girl from the pictures waiting outside the door. “Daddy!” She exclaimed.
Drew’s office was in his house, where he and his wife raised their family.
Drew had explained that when he had his kids, he wanted to be with them more so
he moved his office into his house so that he could be closer to them. Nik
thought it was a little bit weird at first but when he thought about it, it was
kind of nice. It made the man seem more down to earth and genuine. “Nikolas,
this is my daughter Olivia.” Drew said picking the little girl up. Nik smiled
at the little girl and had to stop himself from laughing, as she was clad in a
pink bathing suit with a tutu over it and red cowboy boots on her feet. She
looked absolutely adorable. Nik smiled at her and felt a lump form in his throat
as thoughts of his baby that Gia is caring popped in his head. “Hi there.”
Nik said smiling at her. “Hi!” She said brightly. “You can call me Liv.”
She said in a tiny voice. “And you can call me Nik.” He said smiling at the
little girl. Nik’s eyes lightly mist with tears, as he suddenly was
overwhelmed with thoughts of Gia, he wanted more than anything to be with her
while she was pregnant. He wanted to share it with her. He made a vow that he
was going to change. I’m going to be with you soon Gia, Nik thought to
himself. He left Dr. Core’s office with a new hope. He was going to win Gia
back if it killed him.
