Pushed Away CH 13

“Well I don’t know about you but all I want to do is sleep.” Gia said. “Yeah me too.” Lucky said. “Well here.” Gia said getting up. “You can barrow some of Nik’s pajama bottoms.” Gia said, handing them to him. “Thanks.” Luck said, leaving to the guestroom.

Gia changed into some boxers and a white tank top. She was so tired. The day was such a long one and she was so glad it was finally over. Her arm was killing her but she hadn’t said anything to Lucky because she knew he would want her to stop working and all she wanted to do was get this room done.

Gia was finally able to admire the room. It looked just how she wanted it to, she felt so much better in it now. Her eyes landed on the picture of her and Nikolas that was hanging on the wall. Thoughts of him immediately filled her head. “Why didn’t he say goodbye to me?” She whispered just as Lucky walked in the doorway.

“Gia” Lucky said gently. She looked up at him and the tears she was trying to fight came spilling down her cheeks. She hated to cry and it seemed like that’s all she been doing lately. “Gia I’m so sorry.” Walking over to her, Lucky wrapped his arms around Gia and held her while she cried. “I don’t want to be alone anymore Lucky.” “Will you stay with me?” Gia asked, looking into his eyes. Without another word Lucky led her over to the bed and laid down next to her. They held each other until they fell asleep in each others arms.

Gia woke the next morning to see Lucky’s sleeping face. At first she was confused and a little bit panicked to see him there. She then remembered him comforting her about Nikolas. Looking at him, she thought about what a great friend he was to her. She hugged him a little tighter but this caused him to wake up. “Hey you.” Lucky said with a smile. “Hi” Gia softly replied. They just laid there for a while, both in deep thought. “Hey Gia I wanted to talk to you about something.” Lucky said, propping himself up with his arm. “OK, shoot.” Gia turned to look at him. “Why do you let Nikolas treat you the way he does?” He asked. Gia thought about what he was asking her, he began to speak again before she could answer. “I mean, your so strong Gia.” “Why don’t you tell him that he’s hurting you when he doesn’t make time for you?” Lucky asked. Gia took a deep breath before answering. “Lucky, I came so close to loosing him.” “The accident made me realize how much I really do love him.” “I just need to get through this.” “I need to give him time and wait until he’s not so busy.” Gia said. “Damnit Gia!” Lucky said getting off the bed. “Your not the women you use to be.” “It’s like living in this place, with this lifestyle has made you become someone your not!” Lucky said angrily. Gia looked down at her hands. He was right. The old Gia would have never put up with this shit. “Your right Lucky, things are going to change and right now.” Gia said standing. “When Nikolas gets back he WILL make time for me!” Gia stated and went to go get ready for the day.

Gia looked at her reflection in the mirror, pleased at what she saw. She was dressed in a pair of black leather pants and a dark purple V-neck shirt, her braids cascaded freely down her shoulders. “Welcome back Gia.” She said with a wide smile spread across her face.
