Pushed Away   CH 1

It had been 3 months now, Nik and Gia had been married for three months. It started out beautiful. Everything was perfect and they were both so happy. They had a beautiful wedding and honeymoon. After Nik signed the papers taking over the Cassadine empire he went right into working to make a good impression on the shareholders and associates of the business who thought that he couldn’t run things as well as his uncle.

“Hey stranger!” Gia said as she walked into the huge office that Nik was working in. "Hey you!" He said as he looked up from his work. “I haven’t seen you all day.” Gia said, with a pouting lip. “I know, I’ve been really busy”. Nik said as he rubbed the back of his neck. "But I see you’ve been busy shopping!" Nik stated, noticing the bags in her hands.

"Yeah it was nice but then I got lonely." Gia said. "You didn’t go with Kristina?" Nik asked. “No she went on a date with Ned today.” Gia said. “Oh I see….” Nik said.

“So what are you doing?” Gia walked around the desk Nik was sitting behind. "Nothing interesting, just Cassadine stuff" Nik said as he scrunched up his nose. "Like what? Can I see?" Gia asked as she sat on the desk. “Look honey I have to work to do.” Nik said with a look of frustration on his hansom face. "Do you think you can go keep yourself busy?"

“Fine!” Gia yelled loudly. She stomped off before Nik could even apologize for being so rude. He hated to send her off like that but trying to work is really hard with Gia around. And he had so much to do. Being the prince was harder then he thought. He was so busy he could hardly remember the last time he actually had dinner with Gia.

Gia slammed the door to her and Nik’s bedroom and flung herself on top of the bed so hard it knocked down a picture that was hanging up above the bed. “Ever since we’ve gotten married he’s had no time for me!” Gia said to the air. She was so sick of having to spend so much time by herself. It wasn’t that she didn’t like spending time with Kristina (in fact she loved Kristina) but she didn’t want to be a bother with her and Ned. She could tell that Ned was starting to get a little bit tiered of having her around.

Nik was still working when Ms. Landsburry came in and told him that his brother was here to see him.

“Hey man, what’s up?” Lucky asked with a big grin.

Lucky was around a lot since he and Elizabeth broke up. It surprised Nikolas how good Lucky was doing sine the brake up. He actually seemed so much more free and easy going. But the bad thing was that he wanted to spend time with Nikolas and he just didn’t have that time to spend.

“Oh you know, just Cassadine crap.” Nik said as he looked up at his brother. "What’s up with you?" Nik asked. “Nothing much” Lucky shrugged. “So where’s that beautiful wife of yours?” Lucky asked. “Well actually she’s pounding around up stairs, she’s a bit mad at me at the moment.” Nik said. “Why is that?” Lucky asked. “She wanted to talk to me but I didn’t have time with all this work I’m doing”. “Oh...” Lucky said, realizing that his presence was probably not too welcomed at the moment either.

Nik started thinking about something. Gia’s lonely and Lucky’s lonely… Maybe they should start hanging out together? He thought. “It’s not like they're not already friends.” But he could push them a little more? Kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. It would really help make his life a little easier to have the two of them out of his hair for a while.

“Hey why don’t you go keep her company?” Nik suggested. “Sure!” Lucky said. Liking the thought of having someone new to talk to. He liked Gia a lot and this will be nice for them to spend some time together. “I’ll see you later then!” Lucky said cheerfully, heading up the stairs.

“This is going to be great,” Nik thought briefly before concentrating on work again.
