My New Best Friend CH 14

Gia opened her eyes and rapidly looked around her, she realized that she was on the couch, wrapped up in a blanket in Nikolas’ arms. She began to panic and gently disengaged herself from Nik’s hold and sat up to look for her clothes, she spied her shorts close to her and bent over to grab them when Nik’s arm suddenly snaked around her and pulled her to him. “Where do you think you’re going?” He whispered as he nuzzled his face in her neck. “I’m getting dressed Nikolas.” She said pulling out of his hold and moving to finish her task. Nik was confused by her behavior, he watched as Gia nervously moved around to get dressed. Gia put on her shorts and underwear and walked over to go get her shirt, turning her nude body away from his, hiding her breasts shyly as she walked to her shirt. She slipped it on hurriedly. “What’s wrong Gia?” Nik asked standing up, the blanket falling to the floor, leaving him fully exposed to her. She wouldn’t look at him. Gia quietly but quickly headed up the stairs. Nik rushed to put on his pants and ran after her. “Gia!” He yelled through her door as he pounded on it. She had locked it. “Nikolas, go away!” Gia said. “No! Open the door right now. I have the key, I’ll just open it.” Nik said stubbornly. Gia sighed and slowly opened the door, standing in the way of his entry. “Gia what’s wrong?” He asked reaching out to her but she jerked away. “You’re just going to say that it was a mistake, that it wasn’t meant to happen, that it was just us being wrapped up in the moment. I’m only trying to spare myself the hurt.” Gia said looking up at him. Nik looked down briefly, he didn’t expect for her to react this way. “You didn’t even give me a chance, I’m not like that. Do I seem like the type of person who does things without thinking them through Gia?” He asked looking up at her. Gia shook her head no. “I would never have made love to you if I didn’t want it, if I didn’t want you. Please Gia, I know that I wasn’t perfect to you in the beginning, but give me a chance to prove to you that I care about you, will you do that?” Nik asked. Gia smiled as she looked at him. “OK.” She said in a small voice. Nik chuckled. “OK, come on you said you were going to show me how to have fun.” Nik said smiling and sticking his hand out for her to take. Gia smiled and took his hand and let him lead her downstairs.

“OK, so the first thing you need to do before you can have fun is to loosen up.” Gia said. “Loosen up, OK.” Nik said. He shrugged his shoulders a few times shook his hands out. Gia laughed at him. “You are so cute! But I just mean that you have to smile more, have fun. Come here.” Gia said, she walked over to the radio and turned it on as he got up from the couch. “OK, now lets dance.” Gia said moving towards him. “Oh no, I don’t dance Gia.” Nik said shaking his head. “What? That’s crazy! Come here.” Gia said. Nik hesitantly walked up to her and placed his hands around her waist and began to sway with her. “OK, that’s great Nikolas you know how to slow dance but this is a fast song, so come on, move your feet.” Gia said. Nik laughed. “I can’t.” Nik said biting his lower lip and shaking his head smiling. “Yes you can! Come on!” Gia said. Nik began to move his body more, but he never took his eyes off of Gia’s body as she moved. “OK this is making me want to do more then just dance with you.” Nik said. Gia’s mouth dropped and she hit him on the arm. “Oh that figures, you’re such a guy!” Gia said rolling her eyes. “What? I can’t help it!” Nik said smiling as he moved closer to her. He brushed his lips over hers lightly and she smiled into his mouth. “Oh fine!” Gia exclaimed wrapping her arms around him and kissing him passionately.

Nik and Gia spent the rest of the day together, talking, making out and having fun. Seth walked in that night knowing that things had definitely changed between Nikolas and Gia, he smiled at the two of them. Gia instantly got up to greet him when he walked in. “Hey I need to talk to you for a sec.” Seth said to Gia. They whispered a few words to each other and Seth walked up the stairs. Nik saw the change on Gia’s face as she turned around. “What’s up?” He asked. “I’m going to bed with Seth.” Gia announced. “Gia, I thought that maybe we could, I don’t know sleep in the same bed tonight.” Nik said a little hurt. “I can’t, I have to be with Seth tonight.” Gia said. “Why?” Nik asked confused. He got up off the couch to stand in front of her. “Because we’re going to need each other tomorrow.” Gia said. “What’s tomorrow?” Nik asked. “July 13th.” Gia said. Nik was confused. “What happens on the 13th?” He asked. “I can’t talk about it. But I’m telling you now, I’m not going to be myself tomorrow.” Gia said. “Gia.” Nik said touching her arm with concern. “Goodnight Nikolas.” Gia said leaning in and kissing him on the lips and then running up the stairs. Nik sat for a while, wondering what was up with Gia before he made his way up the stairs to his room and lay in his empty bed.

Gia walked into the dark bedroom, Seth had already stripped down to his boxers and was lying under the covers. She pushed her shorts off and walked up to the bed in her underwear and tank top. He was awake, and she knew it. She crawled up on the bed and slid in next to him. “You should be sleeping with Nikolas, Gia.” Seth said. “Hell no! And how did you know?” Gia said laying her head on his chest. “I know you better then anyone Gia.” Seth said kissing her head. “I know.” Gia said. “So does he have a big d..” Seth was interrupted by Gia, she shrieked and pinched his arm. Seth laughed as he tried to push her away from him. “Yes.” Gia said. They both laughed as they scooted closer to each other. Gia got serious. “Tomorrow Seth, it will be four years.” Gia said as tears threatened. “I know.” Seth said pulling her in and kissing her cheek. They lay in each other’s arms as they fell asleep.
