CH 5

Nikolas woke up abruptly; he had another dream about her. Only this time he saw her face. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. His heart pounded as he thought about the dream. He was in some kind of club, maybe a coffee house with a group of friends. Sarah, Lucky, Elizabeth, and even Courtney and Zander were all there. He was laughing and having a good time. His brother was making him laugh so hard; he could always make him laugh. Sarah suddenly got a page, typical as it often happened. They all got up and began to walk out; he felt a strange pull coming from the other side of his brother. Everyone was pushing him to leave to he ignored the feeling and walked on. Sarah had hailed a cab and they all got in but he was the last one, just as he was about to get in he heard her, the sweet voice of an angel. He turned around and there she was, he just stood and stared at her. He tried to memorize her face; he wished to god that he had done a better job because now he could vaguely remember. Her face was the first thing that popped into his head when he woke up, but the longer he was awake, the more his mind was erasing it from it’s memory. He reluctantly got out of bed and took a shower.

He heard the door to the bedroom being opened as he was stepping out of the shower and saw a very tiered Sarah walking in. “Hi.” She said softly as she looked up at him. “Hey, tough night huh?” Nik asked. Sarah nodded her head. “Yeah, it was crazy. I’m so tired!” Sarah said lying on the bed. Nik smiled and headed over to her with a towel wrapped around him self. “Do you need me to get you anything?” He asked as he bent down and ran his fingers through her hair. “No.” She sighed. “OK, well I’ll let you get some sleep then.” Nik said as he went and got dressed. Coming out of the bathroom fully dressed in a black Armani suit, Nikolas sat on the bed next to Sarah who was smiling at him. “Wasn’t that so sweet of Lucky to propose to Liz in front of everyone last night?” She asked smiling dreamily. “Yeah it was.” Nik said, afraid of where this was going. “My brother and I are lucky men.” He smiled before kissing her on the forehead. “You better believe it buddy.” Sarah teased as she rested her head down on the pillow. “I’ll see you tonight.” Nik said walking out the door.

Nik was sitting at his desk working when he heard a knock at his office door and looked up to see his uncle in the doorway. “Hello uncle, how are you?” Nik asked standing up and giving him a quick hug and then gesturing that he have a seat. “I heard about you’re brothers announcement last night at Laura’s house, how wonderful for he and Elizabeth.” Stefan said. Nik eyed his uncle. “Yes it is, uncle what are you getting at?” He asked. “Nikolas, you are soon to be the prince, you need to start thinking about marriage. Sarah is a very sophisticated and beautiful young woman and she would make and excellent wife and princess.” Stefan said. Nikolas stood up and turned away from his uncle. “I know Stefan and I think about marriage all the time, but I’m just not ready.” Nik said as he turned back to face Stefan. “Please respect that uncle.” Nik said looking into his eyes. Stefan nodded his head. “Now how are the share holders in Japan doing?” Nik asked. “Fine, they decided to invest again this year.” Stefan said. “Good.” Nik said.

Nikolas sat behind his desk after his uncle left and they had discussed all the business that needed to be dealt with. He closed his eyes and leaned back in his chair. A vision of the women in his dreams suddenly popped into his head as clearly as it had in his dream. And it faded as quickly as it appeared, Nik sat up, looking around like she was some how in the room. His heart was pounding as he thought about her. She was so beautiful; he wondered what her name was. “What am I thinking? She’s not real; she’s just someone in my dreams.” Nik said to himself as he stood up and paced his office. This was not like him; even if this woman were real she would never affect him this way, it just wasn’t in his nature to obsess about a woman. He couldn’t get her out of his head. Her exotic features intrigued him so. Her long braids, her dark complexion, amazing figure and her beautiful face, everything about the way she looked made his heart pound. Nik shook his head in attempts to clear his head, he needed to go home, do something to stop his crazy behavior.

Nikolas road the elevator down to the lobby floor and began to walk past the front desk. “Hey Nikky’s what wrong?” Jewel asked from her seat behind the desk. “I’ve just been having some weird dreams that’s all.” Nik confessed. “Stick around for another hour and we can talk about it.” Jewel said hopefully. Nik thought about it, Jewel was a very interesting person and she might be able to help him in this situation. He smiled and nodded his head gratefully. He walked over to the small coffee shop that was built into the lobby. He sat down on one of the small tables and waited for his friend to join him. Like she promised, an hour later Jewel pulled up the chair across from him and sat down. “So, tell me about the dream.” She said. Nikolas sighed and went on to tell Jewel all about his dreams and how the woman from them haunted him daily. After hearing what he had to say, and taking an extremely uncomfortable for Nikolas amount of time to think about it, Jewel spoke. “Well, you need to find her Nikolas.” She stated. Nik looked at her confused, like she had grown horns. “Jewel, it’s a dream, she’s not real.” Nik said. “Not necessarily, things like this happen to people all the time. You know I dreamt about my niece before she was even born. Sometimes people dream about things that are going to happen in the future.” Jewel said. “I know that you’re, psychic, intuitive whatever but this is not some kind of psychic phenomenon or anything. This is just about a women who isn’t even real, that I dream about.” Nik said. “Yeah, I’m intuitive Nikolas and I’m telling that I have a feeling that you are meant to find this person.” Jewel said, pushing back a piece of her short jet-black hair behind her heavily pierced ear. “OK, thanks for the insight but I think I’ll just see what happens. I probably won’t even dream about her again.” Nik said standing up. “Yeah, probably not.” Jewel said, secretly thinking otherwise. Nik leaned over and gave her a kiss on the cheek before he left.
