CH 31
Nikolas strode through the doors of the Port Charles hotel and politely asked
for his grandmother’s room number. The woman at the desk hesitated but Nik
flashed her his million-dollar smile and she reluctantly gave it to him. He
thanked her and headed for Helena’s room. Pounding on the door, he waited
until it was opened. “Why Nikolas it’s a pleasure to see you my darling,
please come in.” She said with as much warmth as she could show. Nikolas
grinned and stepped inside.
Gia walked open the glass doors of the Port Charles hotel and cursed, she
hadn’t thought about how she was going to find out witch room Helena was in.
She looked around, searching for some way to get in. She spotted a flower
shop by the entrance; she hid her coat behind a potted plant and walked
over to the florist.
Buying a bouquet,
she headed over to the desk with it. “Hi, I have a delivery for Helena
Cassadine, can I have the room number please?” Gia asked cheerfully. “Here,
we will have one of our employees take it up.” Replied the rude woman behind
the reception desk. “Well actually I need to deliver this personally, it’s a
singing telegram.” Gia explained. The woman eyed her suspiciously but
hesitantly gave her the number. Gia made her way to the room, not believing that
her story actually worked.
Nikolas slowly inspected Helena’s room. Making her nervous as walked with his
arms behind his back. “Nikolas darling do you mind if I ask you what this
visit is about?” Helena asked. “Well, as you might have heard grandmother,
I’m engaged to a princess, Princess Gia Mashaka Campbell of Spain actually.”
Nik said. “Yes I am aware Nikolas.” Helena said wryly. “Well I just wanted
to tell you that the wedding is scheduled to take place in four months.” Nik
said. “So you intend to marry this woman, but you don’t actually love her do
you?” Helena asked. Nik’s fists balled up as she held in his rage. They both
looked up when they heard the door abruptly open. Nik was shocked at who was
standing in the doorway.
Gia walked up the room that the women at the front desk gave her the number for.
“What now?” She whispered to herself. Leaning her head against the door, she
listened to what they were saying. She was furious at what she heard. Helena was
talking about her. All thoughts escaped her as she felt a hand clamp down on her
mouth. She screamed but it did no good as the strong hand over her mouth muffled
them. It was Shane. She knew it; she could smell his familiar scent flowing
through her nose. She felt him pushing her body forward and he reached over,
opening the door abruptly he forced her in. “Look who I found.” Shane said
walking in with Gia in front of him.
Nik looked down at the floor, Damnit Gia he thought. He looked up at her and
fear took place of his anger. “Get your hands off of her now!” Nik yelled
pointing to Shane. Shane pushed her roughly to him. Nik quickly wrapped his arms
around Gia as she fell into his arms. “Are you OK?” He whispered in her ear.
Gia nodded her head. “Well, well, well what do we have here? Is this the
lovely Princess herself?” Helena said mockingly. “Don’t act like you
don’t know me you witch!” Gia said angrily. Nik squeezed her arm. “Don’t
Gia.” He said roughly in her ear. “Grandmother the reason that I came over
here was to give you a warning. You will stay away the people who I love or you
will pay.” Nik said looking her deep in the eyes. “Oh Nikolas it’s nice to
see that your getting some guts, but I’m afraid you do not intimidate me one
bit.” Helena said with a smug grind. Nik tightened his hold on Gia as he felt
her try to advance towards Helena. Before anyone could say another word, Stefan
burst in the room with Mac Scorpio in tow. “Helena, you’re under arrest for
the kidnapping of Ms Gia Campbell.” Mac said walking towards her. “Why
that’s absurd, I only met Ms Campbell just now.” Helena said smoothly.
“Nice try but you see your friend here turned you in, and with his help we
were able to prove that you were behind the kidnapping.” Mac said gesturing to
Shane. Mac walked over to her and read Helena her wrights and clamped the
handcuffs on her. Helena glared at Gia as she past her; her eyes were glued to
her until she was no longer in her line of vision. Shane and Stefan fallowed
behind, leaving Nik and Gia alone.
Nik moved to go around Gia without looking at her. “Nikolas?” Gia said when
he was about to pass. He kept walking not looking at her once. “Nikolas wait,
what’s wrong?” Gia asked as she grabbed his arm. Nik pulled his arm out of
her hold angrily. “Nikolas, talk to me what’s wrong?” Gia pleaded.
“What’s wrong Gia? What’s wrong! I told you to STAY HOME and you
didn’t!!” Nik yelled. Gia recoiled slightly at the harshness of his tone.
“I couldn’t just sit back and do nothing.” Gia said softly. “I told you,
over and over again to let me handle this. God Gia you could have gotten
seriously hurt tonight and you’re acting like it’s nothing? I don’t get
you some times Gia, you don’t think. I don’t know if I can handle this,
handle you.” Nik said exasperated. “Nikolas, are you saying that this might
stop us from getting married?” Gia asked. Her eyes widened when he said
nothing. Gia started to get angry, her arms folded across her chest. “You’ve
got to be kidding me.” Gia said with attitude. It was Nik’s turn to look at
her in shock.
“Oh don’t start that attitude crap with me.” Nik warned. “I am not
apologizing for trying to save the man who I’m in love with. Did you hear the
magic word there, Nikolas? LOVE.” Gia said glaring at him.
Nikolas looked over at Gia, he wanted to be angry with her but she looked
absolutely beautiful in her black skirt as it draped over her bent knee. Her
hand was now on her hip as she glared at him. He wanted her so much. But anger
still lingered on as he looked at her. She didn’t understand the way his heart
felt, like it would stop beating when he saw her in the door with Shane. It
scared the hell out of him. “I honestly have to wonder about that Gia, I
really don’t see how getting yourself killed is an act of love. If I did then
Zander would not have been a problem.” Nik said coldly. He regretted what he
said the moment it escaped his mouth. The look on her face killed him.
Gia’s eyes began to tear up at his words, they stung her more then she thought
he knew. She never thought that Zander would ever be a danger to her. Her
demeanor changed from cocky to hurt. She wrapped her arms around herself as if
it would some how stop the sting of the words that were said. She saw his face
soften as he attempted to reach out to her. She pulled away from him, shaking
her head. “Maybe you're right Nikolas, maybe we shouldn’t be together. I
think that Zander would at lease have had the balls to stand up to his own
grandmother.” Gia said harshly. She cringed when he lunged at her, flashing
back to Zander. “Gia stop, before we say anything that we really regret.”
Nik said, inches from her face. “I won’t apologize for doing what I thought
was right. I love you and I couldn’t let you come here alone. This is the way
I am and if you don’t lo..” Nik’s lips crashing down on hers cut off
Gia’s words. When she recovered from her shock,
her mouth opened to his tongue. Their breaths were coming out franticly from
their nostrils as they sucked viciously on each other’s tongues. Gia moaned
when Nik pushed his tongue in as far as it could go; her teeth grazed his tongue
lightly as he slowly pulled it out. Breathlessly Nik rested his forehead on
Gia’s. “I love you Gia but don’t ever do that again.” Nik said as his
thumbs caressed her face. “Maybe.” Gia teased. Nik smiled at her. “But you
don’t EVER push me again.” Gia said seriously. Tears threatened in Nik’s
eyes. “Gia I’m so sorry, I didn’t want to push you I just, I didn’t know
how to keep you away. I’m sorry for what I said too.” Nik said with emotion
in his voice. “I’m sorry too, I didn’t mean to hurt you.” Gia said
softly. Nik kissed her lips, then her forehead and then pulled her in for a hug.
