“Gia are you listening?” Flo said, bumping her arm. Gia shook her head, breaking from Nik’s spell. “Stefan just asked you a question dear.” Flo said, gesturing to Stefan with her eyes. “Oh I’m sorry what was that?” Gia asked innocently. “I asked if you will be having to leave a lot of friends behind when you move here?” Stefan asked. Gia glanced over at Nik who seemed genuinely interested in what her answer would be. “Umm yes but actually my friend Zander is going to be transferred to PCU this semester so that he can be closer to me.” Gia said. She had a strange feeling when she glanced at Nik again, that he knew the truth about Zander. “Well that’s good, at least you’ll know someone in town.” “Nikolas, you should show Gia around town tomorrow, you can take her to that Kelly’s place you always go to.” Stefan suggested. Gia cringed, she could tell that she would hate that place. “I would love to show Gia around, that’s if you would like to Gia?” Nik said smiling at her. She couldn’t say no, at least not in front of Stefan. “I’d love to!” Gia said brightly.
“Well, that dinner was wonderful.” Flo said. “Yes very delicious.” Gia said. “Delicious.” Nik nodded slowly, still staring at Gia. “Nikolas, why don’t you show Gia the estate and than show her to her room when you are done?” Stefan suggested. “It would be my pleasure.” Nik said, standing up and extending his hand for Gia to take. Gia reluctantly walked around the table and took his hand. They left a room full of smiling people.
The second they were out the door, Gia removed her hand from Nik’s. Nik simply put his hands behind his back and walked to the other side of the room. Gia looked around the huge room. “This is our banquet hall.” Nik said, breaking the silence. Gia shivered at the sound of his deep voice echoing through the room. She shrugged in reply, with an unimpressed look. “And this is our game room.” Nik stated when they interred the huge room, with a pool table, chessboard and other recreational things in it. Gia remained silent. Nik was starting to get a little annoyed by her attitude but continued to walk through the castle.
Gia was actually starting to like this castle. It had a very dark and gothic feel to it. It was different than any other place she’d been in. But she couldn’t let Nik know how she felt about it.
“So, what do you think?” Nik asked when they were done looking at all the downstairs rooms. “It’s kind of nice.” Gia said dully. Nik’s eyebrows rose. “Kind of nice?” He questioned. “Well I’ve seen much nicer.” Gia said. “Ah well, you haven’t even seen the grounds yet.” “Let’s go.” Nik said heading out the door. “Look, is this going to take long? It’s cold out here.” Gia complained. Nik was starting to have second thoughts about this woman. Was she really this way all the time? He didn’t know if he could put up with much more of this. “I just want to show you something.” Nik said.
Nik led Gia to the stables and opened the double doors. “These are the stables.” Nik said. “And this is my horse Sheba.” Nik said, stopping at the beautiful animal. He watched as a twinkle appeared in Gia’s eyes. She reached up and petted the horse with a small smile creeping upon her face. Nik was completely captivated; he could watch her smile like that all day in anticipation to see a full smile spread across her face. She looked up at him and then quickly glanced away. “Can we get out of here, it’s freezing?” Gia said crossing her arms across her chest. There it was again. That attitude. Nik just shook his head and walked out of the stable for her to fallow.
"Well I'm sure it's been a long day for you so I'll take you to your room." Nik said. Gia nodded in response. Nik led her to her room and stopped outside the door. "This is it." Nik said opening the door.
The room was huge. It was just Gia's tastes too. She loved it, but she had a sinking feeling like this was her prison cell. Gia turned around and looked up at Nik, who was standing in the doorway. "I hate it here." She said in a whisper. Nik looked down. "Gia, I'm sorry that you’re not happy but there's no way out of this." "I think you should just try to make the best out of it." Nik said. Gia shook her head sadly. "I will do everything I can to stop this." "And if I can't, I will never be happy." Gia said. She walked over to the door and held it open for him to leave. He nodded his head and walked out. Gia closed the door and turned around and burst into tears, crumbling on the bed.
