CH 43
Gia swung open the door to Kelly’s and glanced around the room. Spotting the
person who invited her, she walked over to the table and plopped herself down.
“Make it quick.” She said shortly. “Whoa, Gia come one can you calm down
please?” Zander asked. Gia sighed and nodded her head. “You wanted to see
me?” She asked, crossing her arms in front of her chest. “Will you drop the
hostility for a second? I just need to tell you something.” Zander asked.
“Fine, I’m sorry please, tell me what it is that you want to talk about.”
Gia said, smiling weakly. Zander looked at the table, struggling with what he
wanted to say to her. “Gia, I’m still in love with you.” Zander said
looking her in the eyes. Gia started to laugh but stopped herself. “Are you
serious?” She asked. Zander looked down at the table again, rubbing the back
of his neck nervously before looking back up at her. “Yeah Gia I’m serious,
I’m still in love with you.” Zander said, bringing his hand up to touch her
face. Gia froze. His touch brought back memories and all she could do was look
at him. “Gia, everything happened so fast. You moved here to be with Nikolas
and you hated him, I thought I was going to come and take you away and that was
it. But then I came and you said that you didn’t want to be with me anymore. I
was so confused, and you just pushed me away. I tried to move on and see other
people but I just can’t move past what we had.” Zander said. Gia swallowed
the lump in her throat as she sat across from her former lover.
Nikolas walked over to the door to see who was knocking on the other side. He
smiled at his brother as she opened the door to let him in. “Hey man, come on
in.” Nik said. “Hey thanks, do you have anything to drink? It’s hot out
there.” Lucky asked as she walked in. “Sure, come on I’ll get you
something.” Nik said. He walked his brother to the kitchen and got him a soda
and handed it to him. “So what’s up?” Nik asked. “What I have to have
some kind of evil plan going on? I can’t just want to see my brother?” Lucky
asked. Nik laughed. “OK sorry.” He said throwing his hands up. Lucky
laughed. “Actually I do have a reason for coming by. I was thinking that you
and Gia could go on a double date with Liz and I again?” Lucky said hopefully.
Nik scrunched up his nose. “Look I don’t think that’s a good idea.
Remember last time? It was pretty brutal man. I don’t know if I could take
another night like that.” Nik answered. “Come on Nikolas! I feel like ever
since Gia’s come here you’ve had no time for me.” Lucky wined. Nik
laughed. “God, you sound like a teenaged girl or something. OK fine I’ll see
what I can do.” Nik said. Lucky smiled at his brother. “Thank you Nikolas. I
was thinking that we could go to club 101, go dancing or something.” Lucky
said. “That sounds like a lot of fun actually. Yeah I’ll really try and work
on Gia. I’ll call you OK?” Nik said. Lucky smiled and nodded his head. “OK
thanks man.” Lucky said walking out.
“Gia, please say something.” Zander said as he continued to touch her face.
“I’m with Nikolas Zander, I love him.” She said. Zander shook his head.
“Please Gia, I didn’t even get a chance to change your mind about us. Will
you just hear me out?” Zander asked. “I really don’t think anything you
say will change my mind. I’m sorry Zander but we’re over.” Gia said
getting up and leaving. “No, we’re not Gia.” Zander said softly as he
watched the door swing shut behind her.
Elizabeth stood up from her table, not believing what she just saw. She
couldn’t hear a word that Gia was and Zander were saying but it was clear to
her that it was an intimate conversation. He was touching her face and she was
letting him. “She’s cheating on Nikolas.” She whispered as she walked back
behind the counter. She looked up when Lucky walked in. “Hey sweetie, guess
what? We’re going out with Nikolas and Gia tomorrow night.” Lucky said
cheerfully. “Great.” Liz replied, nodding her head slowly.
Gia walked into Wyndemere with her heart pounding, she didn’t know why she
should be nervous. Her lunch with Zander was innocent in her eyes, but deep down
she knew that Nikolas would probably think otherwise. Honesty was so important
to him and she knew that he would be mad if he found out that she had lied to
him. But she didn’t want him freaking out over nothing. Gia searched the house
for him, finally finding him in the den. “Hey.” She said stepping in. He
looked so happy to see her; she wondered how she was going to lie to him.
Nikolas looked up from the book he was reading. “Hey sparky.” He said
brightly as she walked up to him. “How was your day? What is it that you did
again?” Nik asked as Gia sat down on the couch next to him. “I uh, went to
have lunch with Sonny.” Gia replied. Nikolas looked at her. He got the feeling
that she wasn’t telling the truth. “Really? I would think that I would
remember you telling me that.” Nik said. Gia swallowed a lump that had formed
in her throat. “Yeah well it was kind of last minute so I haven’t really
been talking about it.” Gia said getting up and getting herself a bottle of
water from the refrigerator that was in the corner. Nik still felt like
something was off. But he decided to drop it for now; he got up and walked over
to her.
“So, my brother stopped by today.” Nik said coming up behind her and kissing
her neck. Gia spun around and looked at him. “What are you up to Nikolas
Cassadine?” She asked. Nik smiled. She knew him so well. “We want to get
together tomorrow night and go dancing at club 101.” Nik said. “Oh well have
a nice time, you two look so cute together.” Gia answered. Nik laughed.
“Gia, we want to go out with the women we love.” Nik said. Gia sighed,
knowing where this was going. “Nikolas, Elizabeth and I will never get along.
I’m sorry but we’re just too different. A friendship is just never going to
happen for us, I’m sorry.” Gia said, shaking her head as she walked away
from him. Nikolas fallowed her back over to the couch and sat down next to her.
“You don’t have to be friends. All you have to do is tolerate her enough to
not fight with her all night and you’ll be find.” Nik said. Gia looked down.
“I don’t know Nikolas, I’ve tried.” Gia answered. Nikolas smiled and
lightly touched her cheek. “Please, for me.” He asked. Gia leaned in and
kissed his lips softly. “OK, but only for you Creepy.” She said softly as
she laid her head against his chest. Nikolas smiled as he hugged her to him.
“Thank you Sparky.” He whispered in her ear.
